Problem solved, AA was set to the wrong type.

Not a problem, I had HD 4870 and I had settings problem too, so it's solved then :)

I have a problem with my new 4890, mainly that it is massivly under performing in games, (40fps in l4d on high).

I was wondering if anyone has any idea what the probelm could be? Or do I just need to rma it?

I have already tried to reinstall the drivers.

Intel Core 2 duo has one core speed of 2,8ghz 2,8x2 = 5,4ghz

Amd phenom 2,8ghz 2,8x3= 8,4ghz

DO YOU UNDERSTAND NOW!?!?!? ....

It also depends if you get GTX 260 with 192 core version (That is the normal one)

or you get GTX 260 with 216 core version.

The normal GTX 260 (192 core version) is slower in perfomance than HD 4870

but GTX 260 (216 core version) is faster than HD 4870

So that depends on it :D

Since it's Intel Core 2 Duo then you should get AMD Phenom II X3 :)

Well yeah but Intel Core 2 Duo has 2 cores and Amd Phenom has 3 cores and it's more powerful.

Amd Phenom 8,4 ghz in total

Core 2 Duo 5,6 ghz in total

I'm looking at motherboards for a new computer and some of them say "SLI ready" or "CrossFireX ready"

if someone could explain it would be much appreciated

SLI means that you can use 2 or more same nvidia graphics cards at same time which gives you better fps in games, it depends if game supports SLI then it gives it a huge boost, but if not then it gives only a little :)

CrossFireX is same like SLI but only with ATI video cards :)
