I think it's just the huge advances in telecommunications. It's not just over headsets, it's over these forums also. People will say things to others from the safety of their computer screens they wouldn't dream of saying or have the balls to say face to face.

It's not strictly relevant, and for that I apologize, but what does it mean to say a game is AAAA or AA,AAAA or whatever? It's puzzled me for a while.

hd5870corei7

A = scored 70-79 AA = scored 80-89 AAA = 90-99 AAAA = 10

Thanks man, and are those gamespot rankings, or those of any other organization?

[QUOTE="pokolvrolok"] Another fail. You've done exactly what I expected. You posted character models. I expected you to post either a weapon or a character model because that's the only advantage ps3 games have. That's why so many ps3 fanbyoys are delusional and believe games like MGS4 or UC2 look better than 360 games. Character models mean nothing. In fact in UC2 and Killzone 2 and MGS4 it's the only good looking thing. Texture detail is the game. The areas surrounding you. Look up close to them. I even posted high-res screens of mgs4. You'll see the walls are ps2 standard.

I completely disagree. Surely character models are extremely important presentation wise? They are what you are controlling, after all. Like Delta3074(I think that was the name...?) said, texturing and environments are primarily decoration; after all, you are controlling and playing as the character, the impact on the game of the texturing and environmental detail, after a certain threshold, is pretty much negligible. Do you enjoy playing games magnified fully and staring into the walls?

You dont get it do you? Any game can have superb character models and be neglected everywhere else graphics-wise. To enjoy a game graphics makes no difference to me whatsoever! you're starting to act as if character models make a game. No, graphics have no influence in making a game enjoyable as such. I'm proving though, that all these so called "amazing grafix gaems" are really nothing special. The character models, yes awesome. But the textures.....suck. Do you want the only graphics jump from ps2 to ps3 to be just character models? No, why not make the textures realistic? Why not make it so that when you're in a first person game or a third person shooter (so when you're aiming), you can see the textures look real, almost lifelike. So you can almost reach out and touch it? Evidently you don't care about that. You want a smoke-and-mirrors game (graphically).

This is full of hyperbole and impossible to debate with. Character models dont make a game, but the difference between some of the ultra magnified images we've seen here don't make it either. And you're not "proving" anything, you're not even arguing. For that you'd need compelling evidence.

Who cares? Frankly, this is silly. I think the games on the PS3 look a hell of a lot better than they do on the 360, and very little anyone says will change that. Similarly, nothing I say or anyone else says will change the TC's (sorry, couldn't remember the name) opinion. This is the very definition of an excercise in futility.

I'm not sure about difficulty, but I can say that the game is extremely un-punishing. After ever battle you're health resets to full, and if you die you respawn right before you're last battle, so there's pretty much no element of risk in the game. Add to that the extreme linearity and there's almost no way you can go wrong. The battles can be challenging, but after you get to grips with the battle system (which doesn't take too long) you shouldn't feel out of your depth.

You can't just endlessly grind until you have meteoric statistics and win this way; you can only level up so much until a certain point during the game, after which you can only level up so much until you reach the next point in the game, and so on. This can be frustrating, but it forces you to think and plan during a battle, which is one of the few things SE got right when designing this game (I think).

Hi there - my favourite all time game was Final Fantasy X, and I would be overjoyed if they were to make a PS3 edition of it. With the God of War collection, and rumours for Ico and Shadow of the Collosus being given a similar treatment, does anyone thing that Sony/Square Enix will ever make a PS3 collection of some of the most successful Final Fantasies?

I am aware that Sony doesn't own the final fantasy franchise like it does GOW, and that the franchise is not even totally exclusive.

I'm not sure about those reasons, (you may be right) but I think that an advantage in sales can be self sustaining after a while. I originally bought my xbox360 (which I plan to trade for a PS3) because most of my friends had it, which meant I could play with them online and trade games with them. I know of a few other people who have thought about getting a 360 so as to play with friends more.

My old PS2 still works but it is faulty at times where I have to tap it. I don't want to buy a new one or set up another gaming system because the clutter. Do you think Sony could ever make a download where they can make PS3 slim backward capatible or is it a hardware issue and is impossible? I would pay for the download if it was reasonable.

I sure hope so!
