I am a girl gamer, and i'm proud of it! I own all 3 current gen consoles, as well as both handhelds. Gaming is a big part of my life, but like this topic indicates, there aren't many others like me out there. I don't speak up when i'm playing online games, as I feel that most (not all, i know) guys are going to treat me differently when I tell them that I am a girl gamer. I especially avoid speaking up when I am playing games such as CoD, as it is just filled with immature trolls who would love to find out their is a girl amongst their midst. I hate when some girls call themselves "gamers" when the only thing they do is play CoD, and they only do this to impress boys. I play games because I absolutely love it, nothing more. Its really hard to make friends through video games I find, althought I would love to find some people with the same respect for great games that I do. Galadreil782I'm the same! I love playing games as much as a guy gamer does. I usually swap between a couple of main games that Im playing through, I'm usually playing through one co-op with my cousin and then I'll pop onto CoD / Halo / GTA if I can't really be bothered going through a storyline or if I'm just wanting a couple of quick matches. I hate people who will sit on CoD all the time and drawn away from other games where their SP modes are amazing. Must note if any UK gamers are wanting to add me on XBL then go ahead :) Just message me saying you have.

After reading another topic on here,I realised that I never really see or hear any other girl gamers when I'm online.
For example on MW2, I always hear guys being idiots and making noises down their mics, or just chatting away with their team-mates. Never have I once heard a girl say "hi" and speak to their team-mates. Either that or if they do, they end up getting the rip taken out of them by name calling or guys stereotypically thinking "girls can't play games" (no offence guys but you know who you are!) Or you get people trying to chat them up via messages or by party invites.
I personally think that more girls should play games and there's nothing wrong with a girl picking up a controller once in a while at least, kicking back and playing some good ol' fashioned shoot 'em up game. I also hope that guys will eventually realise there are girl gamers out there and that they should welcome us as well, after all , we are(or should be) playing for some fun and a good laugh as well. Also the guys just shouldn't take it offensivly if a girl beats them on a game, just take it in grace.
Just wondering what everyone else thinks on the matter as well, that's my opinion on things as it is these days.

I agree with you 100%. As for taking it offensivly when getting beat by a girl, I get beat by girls quite a lot (no I don't suck lol) some are just better then me, I don't complain. For an example Rock Band 2, I get beat by girls all the time. Same with Red Dead Redemption, Left4Dead2, MW2, GRAW2, and I even lost to a friend in Fight Night Round 4. But I do agree with you on everything you've said.
Well thank you! If I get beaten on a game, that just makes me more determined to get to make myself better in that game but I also make sure that I keep having fun with it as well. Not much point in playing a game if your not going to have fun.One of my friends on XBL is a girl, and shes always in a party. Cause everytime shes not, and I'm playing with her, she gets mulled by guys "ARE YOU A GIRL?!" So I'm sure theres more girls out there, they just don't talk. Plus, not many girls like Xbox. Most girls go with Nintendo, or maybe a PS2 or something.NintendoGamer3Nice pic by the way (: But yeah I reckon most girls will be playing games but it will be on a nintendo wii with their mates, on a nintendo ds looking after their dogs or something similar. I just mean that I never see hardcore gamers that are girls. Im sure there's more out there and I think they should stand their point and say that we do deserve to be in that MW2 lobby even if im going to get abuse from majority of people in there, there's no doubt going to be one decent guy that will hold up a conversation.
