Wait, GTA V O runs off a cloud server? Well, that would explain why it sucks. I have yet to see a cloud server actually work correctly on any kind of large scale. Everyone seems to think that cloud services are the future of gaming (I'm looking at you Xbone) but nobody seems to want to take the time to fix the broken system before using them.
@ekelly10 I've had a neverending supply of issues with Xbox Live over the years and I have lived in like a dozen different places in the last 5 years, so it has nothing to do with a specific location or kind of internet. Having an internet requirement for a system simply doesn't work. Can you imagine if your computer didn't turn on at all if you didn't have internet? Troubleshooting alone is a nightmare. Also, the majority of games that are released are single player games that do not require an online connection and so a system that requires internet or a system that forces games to use internet really makes no sense at all.
@LeperousAvenger @ekelly10 MS fixed almost everything originally wrong with the console as they played catch up with Sony, but the fact that they were so stupid to begin with combined with how rude they were to their community clearly shows they don't have a freakin clue anymore. Here, read this article I wrote about MS in this console war and it will explain a lot more lol. http://trevordmerrill.tumblr.com/post/57828374826/the-skinny-on-the-great-console-wars-of-2013-part
@ekelly10 @Jdzspace the Kinect isn't a tool, it's a crutch MS is making developers use. It has very limited usefulness in most games. The cloud definitely has a lot of potential I would agree though, but again, it requires a steady online connection, which does not exist in a large portion of the world. The PS4 is simply easier for developers to work with as a system and Playstation in general tends to have better storytelling for some reason. I'm still not sure why, they just seem to pair off with companies that do a better job in that area.
@ekelly10 I owned the previous version of the Kinect and it caused me nothing but grief. It was a horrible piece of garbage that is basically only useful for dance games and playing Child of Eden. The DRM policies were basically the deal breaker for gamers because you no longer owned the game and couldn't do anything with it after you owned it. I resell all of my games on Craigslist for about 75% the value after I beat them so I can afford more games and a digital only system would get rid of that, which is unacceptable. There's a billion other reasons their DRM policies were hell too though.
@Jdzspace @ekelly10 the PS4 as a console isn't that forward thinking, but it is very open in order to let developers be more forward thinking, which really is its job. Unlike the Xbox One and WiiU, the PS4 doesn't get in the way of developers.
