If you would've read any of my posts, you'd know that I couldn't care less about the F1 cars. I'm just looking for the game which provides a bigger challenge. According to everything I read, including this thread, F1 2011 seems brings a much bigger challenge.

Unfortunately, renting games in my country is almost impossible. And none of my friends with PS3s seem to have either of these games, so can't borrow either. :(

I'd get F1 2011 in a heartbeat. If you play racing games for the racing, it's the only choice. You'll need to spend a lot of time practicing on the tracks before the race, because you need to learn the best lines through the corners, what gear to be in etc. before you'll even stand a chance in the race. The rain effects are awesome as well - difficult but extremely fair and realistic. The way the AI performs is excellent as well.

GT5 is pretty graphics and that's it. The AI cars will ram you off the track constantly because they literally are not programmed to recognize the player's car in the game. The only way to get around this is to put soft racing tires on all your cars, in which case you'll be in first place by the first corner and you're basically just doing a time trail by yourself after that. And the career mode is a boring grind and almost completely without challenge.

Ok thanks a lot for the help guys. You have convinced me to go for GT5. Well, you guys and the fact that I can get GT5 for 25€ and F1 2011 goes for 50€.

Well I am an F1 fan and I own both games so:

• F1 2011 is only the 19 F1 tracks and 24 ( well 12 really ) cars
• GT5 has many more tracks, many many more cars
• GT5 has more event types and will last you longer - unless you want to play F1 season after season after season
• GT5 can become a grind to level up and unlock the next events - you can find yourself having to replay events just to level up sufficiently
• DRS and Kers and Safety cars :D
• The AI are on the whole better in F1 IMO

So that list is what I see as some of the key differences/pros/cons when comparing the 2 games, but I won't offer an opinion as to which to get!

Not wanting to make it easy for me, eh? :P in terms of the things you can set up on the car for a race, how do the games compare? And you said the AI is better on F1, is it at least acceptable on GT5? I remember back in GT3 I had there were some pretty bad "wtf" moments with the AI.

I's recommend GT5. There is an incredible amount of stuff to do and the updates are usually very impressive.

This is what I'm afraid of, I don't want to be disappointed if it tries to do too much (in my eyes).

I'm currently downloading Burnout Paradise: The Complete Collection. Looks great, can't wait to play it. That's always worth a try if you haven't already played it.

Hey guys.

I'm currently trying to buy a new racing game, but as my funds are limited, i'm kind of unsure which one to go for.
I currently have Grid, Dirt 3, NFS HP and recently just sold TDU2 (daaaamn it sucked).
What I am thinking about getting is Gran Turismo 5 or F1 2011.

Part of me really wants GT5, because I loved GT3 on PS2, but another part of me really wants F1 2011 for all the realism where you can set different tires and mixing fuels and stuff.

So out of those two, which would you guys recommend to add to my collection?

Killzone series

Assassins Creed series

Infamous series

Far Cry 2

TDU 2

I'm pretty sure there are quite a few more, can't remember off the top of my head right now.

I personally thought the campaign was kind of "meh". I don't play online MP so can't complain on that. The only part of the game which can justify the money spent on it for me, is Spec Ops. Have had so much fun with it so far, alone as well as with friends.

Hmm, for me it's a toss up between

Arkham City

Portal 2

Skyrim

So far I put most time into Arkham City, so I'll go with that.
