My 360 Has Returned!!

About an hour ago the UPS truck stopped at the house and dropped off my 360 :D I must say it's been a weird without it. They sent me a brand new one...was made on 6/26 so I'm happy. So now it's back to gaming full swing ^__^ It was pretty quick I must say since it was exactly 2 weeks ago that I called them and sent it out the next day..and that was even with the Labor Day weekend.

My 360 Bit the Dust

Just as the title says my 360 decided to take a crap on me >__> Although it wasn't the RRoD..instead it was my disc drive that is broke.

I went to play some Soulcalibur IV Saturday night and after I booted up my 360 I noticed that it was saying Unplayable Disc where it would have the disc's name. It actually happened to me twice before but it was like weeks since it last happened, but I just simply opened and closed the tray and the disc booted right up, so I figured it'd be a simple thing once again. Opened and closed the tray and Unplayable Disc again...did that like 5 more times and still nothing. Then I went and tried a few other 360 games, an original Xbox game, a few DVDs, and even a CD. Nothing worked :x

Conveniently enough..the standard 1 year warranty for my 360 expired back on the 17th, 6 days before this all started :roll: So yesterday I finally called Microsoft to get the ball rolling on getting it fixed. And I must say, while I'm at it, that was the best customer service call I've ever went through. No hassles, I could understand the person on the other end, and it was fairly quick..not even a half hour. So I went through all of that and had to pay almost $105 to be able to get it fixed, but right now I don't care..I was able to afford it and I just want the thing fixed. Heck I was expecting close to $150 so that actually made me happy :?

I got the label last night and today I took it down to Staples, since they have a UPS shipping place inside the store, and got it shipped out. Now it's just the waiting game. I'll miss not being able to play for a few weeks :( But I'll live. Besides now it'll give me time to catch up on all the movies I've been meaning to watch for some time now :P

New Game Purchases...Thanks to Selling Some

I meant to make this blog like last week, but I just slacked off and never bothered >__> Decided to do it now because I need a new entry :P

In the past month, I've been finding myself doing something I've never thought I'd be doing much of...selling games I've completed or don't play anymore that I can part with to Gamestop for store credit. It's really nothing new to me with selling games because I've done it before, but typically it was games you'd find in the bargin bin and so I never really got much for them. This time around though it wasn't any bargin bin games. This time it was games like BioShock, Mario Kart DS, etc. Anyway this is the full list of the games that I've sold over the past month:

BioShock (X360)
Burnout (PS2)
Burnout 3: Takedown (PS2)
Burnout Revenge (PS2)
LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (X360)
Mario Kart DS (DS)
Marvel Ultimate Alliance (X360)
NASCAR 08 (X360)
Tetris DS (DS)

The main incentive for getting rid of those 360 games was because Gamestop gave an extra $10 for every 2 you sold. And I got $20 each for both MK DS and Tetris DS. And I got a few bucks each easily for the Burnout games. Thanks to all those games I was able to get 3 new games wihout putting out too much money at all :)

Now I didn't sell all of them at once in one go, because I was still finishing with one game and plus I wanted to play the DS games first before decided that I could do without them, although my mind was already made up beforehand. With each batch I sold though I ended buying another game on the spot. So these are the games I ended getting..along with what games I sold that helped pay for it :P

NASCAR 09 (X360) - Got this one when I sold BioShock, NASCAR 08, and the Burnout games...only had to put out roughly $16 in addition to the games to buy it
LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga (X360) - Bought this when I sold MUA and LEGO Star Wars II...had to pay an additional $22 for it
Viva Pinata Party Animals (X360) - Purchased this when I sold MK DS and Tetris DS...and if left me with $24 in store credit still :D

It made me so thrilled that I was able to get all those games for only $38 in the end, with $24 leftover to boot :)...especially when it would've cost over $120 otherwise just for those 3 >__>

Injustice is so cold...

...and right now I'm ****ing freezing :|

Recently a certain user maliciously said bad things about my friend Andi, through a comment in Robert's blog, and by a thread in the main forums. Although the thread didn't refer to her by name, a little reading just plain out told me that it was about her. The blog comment got pointed out to a Mod, which in turn referred it to an Admin, who immediately suspended the account, however it turns out this account belong to another user on here and as a result the main account was banned for suspension dodging. So you'd think it's over with and all would be well right?

WRONG :x

Turns out this person used the excuse that it was a friend saying at their house who had that account and got it suspended it which led to the ban. Such BS!!! :evil: It was a straight-up lie and everyone should've know it....that's just such an old and generic excuse, I don't see how it slipped by the Admins who decided to reinstate it! And plus eveyrone was acting like this person was such a great user...given what's been done by this person I sincerely doubt that.

So thanks GameSpot...you've just failed me again and lost what respect I still had for you.

Oh and if anyone's wondering..the name of the user I've been referring to throughout my entry is kellymae.

Yesterday was my last final of the semester, which means time to sell back my textbooks for money, and having more money means time to go and buy some games :P

I went to Gamestop and picked up these 3 games:




I only paid this much for them...Orange Box: $40.49, MUA: $11.69, NASCAR 08: $22.49...all of which was after the 10% used discount at Gamestop.

I've been wanting the Orange Box for awhile now. I know that NASCAR 08 isn't exactly that great, but who knows I might have fun with it, plus it'll get me a little more anticipated for NASCAR 09 which most likely will be better from what I keep hearing about it. Also got MUA because it got recommended to me and I can play co-op with Andi and Lucas sometime as well :)

BioShockingly Raising Hell

So it's been awhile since I've bought a full retail game for my Xbox 360...sure there's been an arcade game or 2 in there, and some rentals that just come with easy achievement points, but I haven't gotten any to own since I bought Forza 2 back in December :?

On the way back home from a trip to Martinsburg we had to take today I decided that since I had enough money that I wanted to stop at Gamestop to look around for a new game to get. After about 5-10 minutes of looking around I settled on getting this:



It's one that has been on my wish list for quite some time now ever since I played the demo back in September. Never have been big of FPS games, but the uniqueness of this one just got me so intrigued.

And since I'm on game purchases...the other day I bought this as well through XBL Marketplace:



Even though the boxshot is that of the PC version I did get it for the 360 version...just couldn't find a pic for it >__> For $10 you get a new level in each of the 5 worlds in the game called abysses that are basically a hellish version of that particular world with some new creatures to defeat while on your way to conquering the abyss. So far I've only gotten through 2 of the 5. For the price I say it's a worthy addition that certainly adds some extra replay value and I recommend it to those who play the game.

5. When I broke my leg nearly 7 years ago I ended up breaking both of the bones in my lower leg. Double ouch anyone :?

As some of you know, and some don't...back on January 23rd my dad went in for lung surgery to remove a cancerous growth. The surgery was a success and he was able to talk to us and everything right after. Overnight things went downhill quick and they put him on a breathing machine because his blood pressure and everything dropped real low. Don't know why this happened, but anyway he was on that for 2 weeks, and some days he was alert to us and everything...then they decided on a tracheotomy because of the risk of damaging his vocal cords for having the tube in his mouth for so long and it actually would help him to get off the ventilator quicker. After a couple more weeks he did get off the ventilator and was able talk to us even. Each and every day he continually to get better. The only thing was he couldn't have water and he so desperately wanted some because his mouth was so dry...even with swabbing it.

Back on Friday, they were able to discharge him from the hospital up to the nursing home that is in town here which was great because then we could see him everyday then since it's like a mile from here. On Saturday, they moved him to a room by himself because the room they first put him in was so stuffy and warm that he could not stand it at all anymore. He was so relieved and was looking forward to a good night's sleep for once.

Then come 1 AM today, just as I was going to bed..the nursing home called saying they was getting an ambulance and taking my dad to the hospital because he was unreponsive and that they were going to take him to the hospital where he was at before he got to the nursing. Then a couple minutes later they called again saying that he was so bad that they were taking him to the closest hospital instead. So my mom and I got dressed and ran down to the hospital. When we got there they said they were working on him, gave no details at all, and had us wait in a room for a few moments.

The ER doctor then came in and said that they did all they could....but there was nothing they could do...he was gone :(

Just like that my world just came crashing down...I don't know right now what to really do or where to turn. Time will just have to tell me I suppose.

I'm sure though here's getting all the water he wants right now.

Not Screwed

To simply put it...I'm now eating my own words from my last blog entry >__>

Anyway, later the other night after making that entry I ended up posting in the Forza 2 tournament thread in the tournments forum about the issue. Yesterday afternoon Jody ended up replying to my post saying to resend in the pictures I took. So I did that and got a reply back saying that if I wanted to I could be a waitlister and jump into a race if one person happens to not show up, so I agreed to that...it was fair enough in my eyes. So I checked in, jumped into the chat room and waited. Not long after I was in there someone who was supposed to be participating in the 1st Quarterfinal match said that the pedals on his racing wheel were messed and he wouldn't be able to continue, and just like that I was in. So I did the race and surprisingly I came in 2nd :o And this time I actually did come in 2nd :P Now I'm in the Semifinals tonight and I couldn't be much happier about it right now :D My match is at 8:30 ET tonight. Wish me luck everybody....and I'll be back with yet another entry about this once the match tonight is over with :)
