Without Bliz you as a consumer would not earn any money off the game at all so a 'tax' was to be expected. 30% sounds steep; luckily I also play other Bliz games so I guess I might put the earned money to WoW pets to make use of the 15% tax cut :3

I do not see any problem with a permanent internet requirement in a 2012 game. Maybe in the early 2000's it would have been unthinkable but nowadays you have superfast, internet without any download limits for the price of 3 cups of coffee a month.

Dark Souls comes to mind.
