That's a shame, I can play games from any era, myself. One of the reasons I have stopped gaming this generation is because of the emphasis on power. GameCube games look great still, even better with the official component cable.
Power is overrated. I play more PlayStation and PlayStation 2 games then I do PS3.
If that's the case then why did the 360 and PS3 launch at $400 and $600? Why has power usage gone through the roof? Remember the days when games consoles used to use less than 100 watts?
PS4 and the next Xbox will have to make do with hardware which is less powerful than current PCs, further proof that having cutting edge technology has become more expensive to produce.
If all people cared about the most powerful hardware than the most powerful console would sell the most all the time. Did the Xbox outsell the PS2? No. Did the N64 outsell the PlayStation? No. Hardware is only as good as the software.
