Ouch. What a surprise.

Ouch. What a surprise.
So yeah. You all know now what is going on. The new Zelda game gets a 8.8 rating from Jeff Gerstmann. 'Floptastic' says the troll right behind me. I say 'I don't really care'.
I don't care because this isn't my business. It's a Wii game. Good, I don't have a Wii yet. It's a Zelda game. Fine, I'm not a big Zelda fan. It's the latest Zelda game! So what? It's better than Need for Speed: Carbon! Well, actually I do happen to have a PC. Unlike the Wii. It's reviewed by Jeff Gerstmann!Ā Most probablyĀ another controversial review. Got a 8.8 rating! Yeah, kinda bad at first, but...
Let me tell you my honest opinion. That is. I respect Jeff and his reviews. Well, I may not agree with every rating he gaves. Why should I be mad, after all that's why we can have our own ratings, right? Not to mention the player reviews. Everyone should be happy they can write a review. Even if it's bad or good. All that matters is that everyone can have and express their opinion. Unlike communists.
I respect Jeff for being a professional reviewer. Being a professional reviewer, his duty is to play the game and rate it properly. A friend of mine suggested that he might be biased against Zelda. Which it isn't true at all. First of all, because he gave the game a 10 at "Tilt". If someone gives a 10 at "Tilt", that surely means that he loved that game. If a game gets a 8.8 rating, it doesn't mean that game is bad. Just that it isn't perfect. A really good game but not perfect or good enough to receive 9+.
A thing some users simply can't understand. So, they decide to do some ugly things. Like flaming Jeff, for eg. So, here's a reminder:
Judge and you will be judged.
Flame and you will be moderated.
I'd say,Ā play the game before judging his review. And remember, if you aren't satisfied about GameSpot, then why you are still using it? After all, GameSpot isn't the only gaming site in this world. If you think GameSpot is the best site on the world, it's up to you. It's your opinion.

You know, I have written many times in my blog about my bullies. Well, the "leader" among them has officially left us today, as he is now learning in a school on the other side of the town. And, of course, I am happy.
Last night, someone entered the basement, however, that person(s) didn't stoled anything, fortunately...
As some of you might know, few months ago, many users have deserted the System Wars 2 UCB since Phreak64 and HAL-9000 have made in May 2006 a new site called systemwars2.com. Many users have migrated there, but Chulomex3 refuses to do that, so he has now reopened the board, in a brand new formula. Less spam, more discussion, seems to be the motto of this new SW2, as the administrator says. If you never liked System Wars, that doesn't mean you will dislike this new board. You can take it for a spin here: http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_topics.php?board_id=909181092. Of course, we will need lots of support.

This blog quite disturbed me. As ShenlongBo is, in my pure opinion, one of the greatest contributors of this community, and I always appreciated him. It doesn't disturbe me the fact he doesn't care about his emblems or modship, it does disturbe me the fact he's planing a "very long hiatus". Which would mean he is outta this place. However, it seems that he might back some time. He might come back as a GameSpot Editor, which would be really good. He always had lots of talent at reviews and such, and it would be good for him if you would also get paid for doing that.
Many users have gone from GameSpot in the past few months, for various reasons. However, none of those have disturbed as much as this. Adrian is an icon of the CCU and I don't know how the union would work without him.
It isn't time for me to get pessimistic and such, but this is really sad. I hope he changes his decision, but he really has a busy life and a busy wife. He has a life, and he shouldn't been wasting it. There are things in life much more important than an Internet community. But this is a big loss you can't ignore.
I'm trying to keep my optimism, but it's sad. You can't easily fill in the holes in the community...
EDIT: I just found out that k-diddy66 was banned. Too bad. You can only understand me if you would have get in touch with him. But now, it's over...
On a sad tone,

So, after the recent events with my "favourite" bullies, the mum called the police. I mean, she phoned the so-called "proximity agent" and he came with his assistant today. Everybody was really surprised. Let the trial begin...
I should have knew it all along. What the formaster said enlightened me. I should have knew it all along that some of my colleagues were...

And. I knew I didn't any disease. However, I got something. It's not something I should very worried of it. If you want to know more, drop me a PM.

Remember those bullies I've talked about? All these days they were just ignoring me or something like that, but today... When I left the classroom, they were (once again) awaiting me.
There are only too ways to exit the school. The first exit is used (theoretically) only by pupils and the other one is only for parents and teachers. Lately,Ā I have used only a few times the first exit. Why? Because I don't like to get bullied. Here it goes.
They were trying to stop me as if something really stops them. After seconds, I barely get rid of them and went down to the exit when the director notices me and asks me why I am there. I explained to her my rough situation. After I left the schoolyard, I found out that they were chasing me!
And it started with them being at the other end of the alley. So, I ran, after three cars passed I crossed the street, then when I was close to the fast-food (there's a mediocre fast-food in the area) I heard the dogs. The dogs. I'm talking about some dogs that live along the alley. And even though they haven't hurt anyone (except the white dog who doesn't have an owner and, yeah, he should be removed from the area), they are still annoying as they bark almost anyone who dares to go on the alley. WhenĀ I heard the dogs, probably they were running towards me, when I ran as fast as I can.
At one point, I wasn't chased anymore, but when I was one block close to mine, I heard someone saying my name and I see some suspicious teens few metres behind me and then I ran so hard my shoes were about to explode if it was summer. But it isn't. It's autumn and it's quite cold.
So yeah, I had enough thrill for a day...
Oh my god! Somebody just de-recommended all my reviews!! :x

Already An Old Story?
"E3 is going to be downsized." Our normal reaction to this news story was something like "Oh noes, where are we going to see now booth babes?"; "This is the end of gaming!"; "Can somebody give me an aspirine?". I personally thought that this gotta mean something. I know, I know, it is going to be transformed in a rather boring business conference or something like that. But this means something. I was thinking that a new age of gaming is approaching...
What Did You Just Said?!?
OK, but why I do think so?!
Some of you might know that gaming isn't all about shiny boxes, booth babes or blistering graphics without any gameplay. I said "some of you" because I see so often gamers that judge a game by it's graphics. Or it's box. There are such people and even my dad is quite superficial on this side of things.
The last E3 shows were quite superficial, they were great shows, but where are the great games, where is the gameplay? No Mr. Developer, you can't fool me with a shiny golden trailer, we need gameplay on our hands. And that's why the purpose of this show failed.
Pure gameplay. These are two words that could describe the so-called "golden age of gaming" or old-school gaming. To tell you the truth, there's no golden age of gaming. Some of us just like to think that at that time there were only good games. Wrong.
Everywhen there were good games and not so good games. Just that, in the past few years, there have been proofs many developers are quite superficial and that they care only about the money, not the gamers. The problem is that there are few games that are quite good. But they are hard to find. Or should I say "It depends on your tastes". Then you can say you don't like any game that was recently released.
Which is still quite rubbish. Don't like The Sims? There's always a Darwinia or Perimeter for you. Hate Halo? There's always a Half-Life or Doom. We can make choices, but some of us don't want to risk...
Then Something Green Arrives...
... Especially when it comes to marketing. Gaming has become an industry and people are worried about how to get more money for their company. From that to stop caring about gamers is only a step. You see, in the past few years, there have been many developers to enter the gaming industry because they heard they can make lots of money. Even though they barely know what gamers really want. Not that someone realised how to make a game to satisfy everybody.
Because you can't make a game that would be AAA for everybody. There will always be an outlier to consider it mediocre. There's always the gaming critics to come with a shocking rating. As long as games are made by humans, games can't reach perfection, as any other thing humans did. All we can do is make something close to perfection.
Still You Said Something About A New Era In Gaming...
Well, I'm not a prophet, neither do you, we can't tell when it will begin, it may be an unexpected turn of events. But one thing is for sure: it will be quite surprising. You see, everywhere retro has become "en vogue" once again. So does old-school gaming. Maybe we will return to the form those old games had, with the spare of more or less casual gamers... Maybe once we can't do anymore improvements to the graphics, we will concentrate once again on gameplay, but with modern graphics...
Almost everything is just speculation, but one thing is for sure: we will need lots of visionaries. Avantgardists. People who think at future simple. People who can innovate our way to think, our way to play.

So. Some of you might know what I am big fan of trip-hop music. Well, Massive Attack and Portishead are the two essential bands any trip-hopĀ listener should listen to. Technically, they can't be separated on the pedestal. But I could say that the next LP from Massive Attack is interesting enough, but I am looking forward now at Portishead's 'Saturnine', the third album of the band, released a decade after their previous official LP. What I didn't knew is
http://www.isound.com/portishead___saturnine
Geoff Barrow confirmed that "Saturnine" and "Waiting For..." are actually Portishead songs. However, he said those songs were recorded 3 years ago. It isn't known if these two songs would appear on the new LP, but at least we have a taster of the new LP. Which seems to appear in 2007 or something like that. *coughs*
Anyway, I am curiousĀ on your feedback, it looks like they have a new style. Let's hope for the best.
