@DeltaMike90 I think it's the concept that Riot is letting you play LoL with no strings attached. Just download it and play. Since you feel that you received the game for free, you're more open to the idea of making subsequent purchases, such as skins, rune pages, and extra champions.
There is the factor that more people have bought Skyrim across three different platforms, and so the extra exposure would help it to the top spot. Not that it really means anything. They're both awesome games for different reasons.
I'm not buying this rationale. Aliens vs. Predator 2 was a great game and you never had to make any tough decisions, and the developers were able to scare you despite the fact that you were a near-unstoppable killing machine in the human campaign (assuming you weren't playing on the hardest difficulty). Honestly, you were one Marine who had the ability to kill large swaths of Aliens, Predators, and even an Alien queen.
Colonial Marines is just a bad game. Awesome Aliens games have been made and it's entirely possible to make more of them. The problem is developers and publishers take the license for granted, and so they don't polish them well enough.
I wish developers would start giving the PS3 its fair share of development time. Everything simply looks washed out on the PS3 version of Fallout 3. No point in me buying a PS3 anytime soon when a game as important as Fallout 3 doesn't get AAA treatment on the PS3. It's a damn shame.
And the difference between DX9 and DX10 seems to be...the colors have a browner tint in DX10... Oh boy, that totally justifies an upgrade from XP to Vista.
