Yes vsync for sure, your monitor's refresh rate does not have an effect on fps.

Hmmm it might be firefox, youtube, ign ect use a version of flash to stream the video so its not really dependent on anything other then that. Check to see if you have the most up to date flash player ect. if that does not fix the problem then I dont know. firefox has it issues.

Ive got a samsung HDTV with a spare HDMI port, i my PC has a DVI port, i can connect it to the TV like that yes?

Also would that mean i have a letter box effect around the edge cause its widescreen

Sorry to be more accurate you must use a dvi-hdmi adapter with some tv's, others can do it with just dvi, but I would reccomend spending the $15 for the adapter and grabbing a decent quality hdmi cable.

yes! the dvi-hdmi adapter is realy just for running your pc to your tv, it will scale to 1080p if your tv does that, with no distorion, no letterbox, no signal lag. If you have a newer card like a 3870 and on it even supports audio over hdmi, so with one cable you can connect your pc with audio to your tv. hope that clears it up!

Iv had this for a few weeks and its awesome, I love it. I had a G15 which is a great keyboard, but Saitek keyboards are just so damn cool. The backligting on this sucker is amazing

the 4870 x2 will eat well over 360watts on load yes. the 4870 is close to that aswell, the 4870 an amazing card though, plus it will run insane resolutions at speed unlike the 4850. if money is no issue, why would yu get the cheaper card?????? thats like having enough money to buy a Porsche 911, but settling for a Boxster for no reason..... get the best you can afford, if you can the 4870X2 is smashing benchmarks like no ones buisness, but it'l cost you $600.

I don't think I have ever seen this problem, with any card. There are great people here but for this I would get on the ati forum, its moderated by real ati guys so someone might know what the problem is http://forums.amd.com/game/
