That could be another issue, yes you need a new video card however My old ATI x1650 256mb and Intel P4 gave me a solid 50fps in TF2 everything med-high..sooo? cpu bottleneck maybe?

that is a good choice, I would go for a P45 chipset if you get a new Mobo, which wuld put you at around $100ish , the P35 is good but it is an old chipset, and does not suport some potential future upgrades. Depends what you want to do. But yes that is a solid MOBO

just watch yur temps, I am overclocking a Q6600 at 3.33ghz with a water cooler and its blewow 38* on load, anything under 55-60* should be fine. take your time and do it slowly, as soon as you get about 10-15 % overclock, run Prime95 or any other cpu becnhamrk for a few hours, make sure the heat stays in check and stable. and work yur way up from there.

if you ask me, somone who has been gaming on every platform ever, I even own a NeoGeo. There is no such thing as a gaming laptop, there are some great laptops but none of them will ever fit a decent video card and lack any ability to upgrade, all the tech in a laptop is old. so Its hard to reccomend a good one. The del XPS laptops are very nice but not a tru gaming platform.

Anyone who is cooling with liquid, I am interested in what gear you are using and what your results have been. Post up your specs and any other info. If anyone has question about a water cooling system ask them here.

Here's my LC story, I bought a small Koolance system 2 years go to cool my P4, it was a small system with a 300l/h pump reservoir and, a cpu water block. I knew nothing about cooling with water at the time, other then the fact that it is better then air. The system I bought gave me a great intro and after several months I was able to get my P4 stable at 4.30ghz and it ran at 58* on load. Needless to say it was a beast and I am working on getting my current q6600 over 3.5ghz.

Current water cooler- Thermaltake LCS case (built in lcs system)

Runs at 3.33ghz 38* on load.

Thinking need I need a Koolance system again or a better water block.

Crts are not even sold in Canada anymore (you would have to try hard to find one, very hard) at this point there is no point in looking for a crt you are not going to even save much $$ Hell even a 24" LCD by a good brand name like samsung, is sub $350, and well worth the extra money

lcd wins, plasma is on the way out, trust me why aren't there any plasma monitors why are they all TFT LCD's??? because its not good, lcd is more reliable, does not succumb to image burn in like plasma, and now you can buy lcd's that are just as big. The only reason to buy a plasma is the contrast ratio's are higher, but unless your obsessed how "sharp" the colours look, (the difference between 10,000-1 and 4000-1 is hard to notice) its worth the extra bucks for the lcd :)

[QUOTE="Sordidus"]I use Winrar.NSR34GTR

i thought everybody uses that

HAHAHA so did I, winrar works like 90% even without registering it, so Id say its the best option. I also use PowerISO however it is not free, but its like $10.

I agree with jimmiejammer, however you need, NEED, a better Mobo/Processor Both of which are rather cheap to get into the mid 2 ghz range or higher, I would advise you get a Quad somthing, amd or intel and a better motherboard, your video card is not bad and will hold you over. The video card is Like a nice paint Job, but if you have a $10,000 paint job on a Geo Metro its no good, the $10,000 is better spent on painting your Ferrari. So get a good base first then paint it.... I think thats what I'm saying....
