If i were you i would go with the evga 9800gtx. It's a great card and you also have the step-up option which may even allow you to step-up to the 9900 series.

I have a Sony SXRD 60 inch and SD shows definetly look preety bad unless i put the TV setting to Wide Zoom which makes SD channels look much better.

They support the dual cores but not the quads.

Well at the end of 2008 intels new nehalem are coming out which look very promising. they require a new socket however, and i think ddr3.

Yep, exactly what the 680i was ADVERTISED AS but then they charge you $90 to actually be able to use the features they ADVERTISED on the 680i...

True, but atleast they did something about it unlike some other companies.

I would go with the EVGA 780i, best customer support ever. They are offering 680i owners to upgrade to 780i for 89 dollars. I'm currently 997 in queue but many people on the forums have said that the 780i is everything the 680i should have been. Easy overclocking with complete stability. Plus complete penryn support.:D

I'm pretty sure that the 2 outer slots are pcie 2 while the middle one isn't.
