[QUOTE="Private_Vegas"]Yeah, give me some time to find it though. I remember an article on GS actually that said what lab was using the FatH processing boost. I think it was some university lab. But anyways I'll try to find it and I'll post it later. If it's not up in the next 30 minutes I'll post it here PM it to you later, as I have a Chem lab to do at 12:30. Wish me luck.HuusAskingI would imagine it's somewhere in Stanford University, seeing as how they're the people behind the program to begin with.
STANFORD! That was the University...... man how did I forget that. but anyways.

those are they two GS stories I remember seeing about Folding@Home.
The second article explains the process a bit more. Plus there is a link inside the second article to a CNN web article that goes a little more indepth. But yeah, the Stanford website might offer more technical info if thats what your after flazzle.
Ok.... judging by the TC post I'm going to assume petaflop is a good thing. But anyways....
I'm impressed with the F@H system. It's an excellent way to utalize the technology when you arn't gaming, but lets be honest here. Some PS3 owners are patting themselves on the back way to hard. The PS3 isn't curing cancer, it's loaning it processing power to some other computer in a lab somewhere where scientists are curing cancer. And they don't NEED the PS3's help.
The PS3's F@H program is great, don't get me wrong. I love the idea, but you cows out there.... don't think you're gonna be getting a humanitarian award or anything.Â
[QUOTE="Private_Vegas"]Sales number do not indicate fanbase. People who bought MGS on PS might hate it now. The vice-versa and other adaptations of that example can be applied to the other MGS's and Halo.
That aside, a lot of the Halo fanatics I know are burn out losers. It takes about 5 of them to equal one functioning human.

if your a fan, u buy the game (i have all listed mgs and halo alike)Â i thought everyone knew that but i guess i was mistakin. ok little buddy it goes like this, you like a game u follow it until launch , then u buy it, case closed. just bc u look at screenshot doesnt make u a fan.
Yeah.... don't condescend to me with that little buddy crap. Especially since you completely overlooked my point. Allow me to explain it more for you. You used total sales numbers of games released almost up to 10 years ago as a way to determine todays fanbase. Someone who bought MGS back in 1998 might not be a fan on the series now. Someone who bought Halo 2 at launch might hate Halo now. and who says that someone can't be a Halo fan and a MGS fan, and buy both games? 11.2 million Halo games sold anywhere between yesterday and three years ago doesn't equal 11.2 million fans today.
Yeah! and Atari had controllers back in the 70's. Come on MS and Sony, stop with the 30 year old tech. Jeeze........
