Tell him/her to grow the hell up. Then tell anyone who actually gets mad at him/her to grow up also. It's just a piece of fabric. Emphasizing so much of your nationalism in a symbol like that seems like pretty feeble patriotism to me. a symbol is just that, a symbol, what really represents a country's greatness is it's people. Seems to me that if you take you're flag so seriously, everything else about your country must be crap.

In the case of someone saying straight up "I want to die." Yes 100%. When it comes to people in a vegitative state it's less clear cut (unless they have a living will). Thats when you really have to stop and think what would that person want. Deciding if someone should live or die is really a decision that only that person should make.
Shorter ones, that don't waste a 5 years on idle chit-chat. Full Metal Alchemist was pretty nice. i guess you could call 50 episodes short, as far as Anime goes.
