So your assuming that everyone on this forum is 10?

..... The sad thing is....I can see how you might jump to that conclusion.

I Think two of the biggest factors would be re-playability and how it affected your attitude toward the final product.

I downloaded a few demos this year that I just couldn't get enough of them. I played them over and over again. And they never got old.

And there have been demos that have made me instantly say "Holy crap. I'm buying this game" and other that killed my budding interest in the retail product.

I assume betas are not included in this competition.

If Galaxy doesn't get lowballed here then I think it has a chance. It's got some steep competition with World in Conflict and Halo 3 though. Plus assorted others that have probably already been mentioned.

[QUOTE="mingo123"]cows would get slaughtered if that happened-D3MO-

lol...no...most cows know how to play games...unlike lemmings

Know how to play games? I'm pretty sure everyone on this site knows how to play games. Why would you even say that?

Doesn't matter as it's besides the point. All of party A's belligerent degradations of party B are for nothing because there isn't some invisible force that drives players of varying skill levels to purchase certian consoles accordingly.

My guess is that the two networks, PSN and XBL arn't something you can just throw together and hope they mesh. I'm not a technician so I couldn't really go into specifics, but I'm willing to guess there is more to getting PSN and XBL to operate together than just wanting them too.

[QUOTE="mingo123"]MS is releasing new compression technology next year to compress data on DVD9 better then before.....so yeah Blu-Ray aint neededEricvon71

So is that your professional opinion or fanboy opinion???

I've heard about this new compression style/technology too. It's common sense really. IfMS can compress their data better to fit more on the DVD9, then a more disk space won't be necessary and therefore they won't need BluRay for "larger" games. How was that a fanboy remark?

Although this doesn't mean that BluRay is generally not needed. Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey are clear indications that games are starting to reach a point where the standard formats can no longer contain entire games. Like back when the FF 7 8 and 9 and Legend of Dragoon were on multiple disks. Other games didn't take up as much space at the time, but they do now, that and more. I think what we are seeing now is a repeat of that. So what we need this gen is the ability to store more data. And BluRay is a means to that end. But it is also just one route. When something gets full you can either move up to a bigger container(bluray), or find a way to pack the smaller container more efficiently.(New compression method) So while BluRay may not be our only saving grace this gen when it comes to the disk space issue, it is one solution to the problem and is, therefore stilla sufficient solution, but not necessary.

9's across the board...

socom ps3 won't look as good or play as well as cod4, but it'll be dev'd on bluray disc...why?

mouthpeace01

I'm trying to make sense of this. So.... a game that could of (and has)been done on DVD looks better than a game that will be done on BluRay.... I can't get me head around it. Your statemnt makes no snese and follows no logical form.
