@bluezealand The screen is more prone to being damaged, especially by hard presses. My original DS has calibration issues, it's a quarter of an inch off and I can't fix that with calibration. I have a resistive phone which is terrible at registering anything after so much use and storage in my pocket. I have a 2nd gen ipod. No problems with the screen. Even completely cracked capacitive screens still work. Oh, and multitouch.

I didn't keep up with the WiiU because I didn't plan on getting it. I was severely disappointing to hear that the touch screen, the pull-out-all-the-stops, revolutionary, next dimension/generation in gaming, the whole reason that the WiiU even exists rather than making a Wii HD, is resistive rather than capacitive.

The glove idea looks terrible for games. Thank goodness Sony is smart when it comes to hardware. Although if built well enough, it'd be interesting to see it used for computer interfacing or some other more practical purposes. And the 360 controller was hilariously monstrous.

@justin4444 I think it's poor third party support and developers unfamiliarity with the controls. Not to mention that cross-platforming has done poorly across other consoles to the Wii. I think it's developers fault in general. Social gaming though, is something that isn't needed. Remember all those Facebook requests for Farmville? All of those causal games that can barely be called games? Yeah, I don't want that infecting my console. Although, with touch integrated controls, there's a good outlook for it in my opinion, which is why I like the Vita. I have an Itouch, and although some of the games are nice, it was always missing one thing, buttons. I think Sony's approach to integrate gameoad and touch controls was a very nice move, albeit their handling of the product leaves a bit to be desired. Consoles are going through another experimental time, and maybe they should listen to their consumers, rather than their wallets.

Sony's all like "HEY NINTENDO! We're going to show you how to launch a console!"

There's one key thing for a success to a console, Cross-Platforming. If you look at any current gen console, there are a lot more cross-platforming titles then exclusives. The Wii U has to show that it's capable of this, so that consumers can get the full experience instead of only using the WiiU for WiiU exclusives and looking to other consoles for everything else. And I'm personally mad at Nintendo for constantly pushing out "the next best thing", it's like they puke innovation. "Let's take a console, add one thing to it, and release it". For now, I think that touch screens should stay on portables. In other biased words, Vita did it better. I just think that this should of been held off until holograms where perfected. With a controller this big, there's a lot of maintenance while simply playing the game. I assume it's heavy and you constantly have to properly hold it. I can't imaging somebody passing or holding the controller with one hand. And even when you hold it with one hand, you have to readjust your grip just to hold it. This just creates a bunch of small problems that eventually build up to a bigger picture. Same with Ubuntu 11.04. Another thing, along the cross platforming lines, the WiiU is going to be left behind in terms of graphics when Sony and Microsoft release their new consoles. I don't think that companies will spend a lot of time "dumbing down" the graphics and taking the time to pretty it up for the WiiU if they mean to cross platform.

1. The graphics BETTER be better then PS3 or 360's. They've been release, what, 4 years ago? 2. They better not opt to use a touch screen over actual analogue sticks. Iphone games proved that this is a VERY bad idea, there's no "limitations" on touch screens, making resetting thumb position hard, and it'll also be hard to judge where your thumb is in relation to the center, making it hard to tell where to move your thumb next making controls a game in itself where you have to "guess and check". There is also a lot of friction on the screen, making "analogue sticks" unresponsive on a touch screen. These are the reasons I stopped downloading games for my ipod after the month that I got it. They better not replace buttons either, and the shoulder buttons are important too. Nintendo has always been a pioneer, but these visions towards the stars on "the future of gaming" has made them forget what's below their feet, what supports them.
