True the fat feels like your actually playing something, but if you can't get a disk into a flip open top without screwing your lens up there are completely different problems at hand... (Stop drinking so much and beating your PS2) :p

I've had to many DRE with my fatties (Disk read errors) only because you can only buy them second hand. Not a bad system overall because you can add a hard drive but do you really need a HDD? Probably not unless you want to play the FF online games. I purchased a slim brand new last year and it really brought back that new system feeling for me especially with the network built in you don't have to spend big money or time finding a used one (sony doesn't make networks anymore). My slim runs cooler and faster than my old fatty...Just take care of it don't fling it around spilling soda on it.

I think Sony still has New releases all the way into 2008 and as far as I know Sony makes 8$ for every PS2 console sold. Good point about the Wii Sony plans on anouncing game similiar to the Wii-motes system a week or so before Christmas. :-D

Should I spend the extra cash for the S-video cable? I appreciate clarity and a better all around visual, but is it worth it? I would go RGB but i'm not about to buy another new T.V and mine is just fine. I play alot of Madden, RPG's, and soon I think I might try Guitar Hero III with all the hype about it. So would I benifit with S-video or will I barely notice the change?

Im 100% a sony fan, but untill that price tag drops for the Ps3 I wont consider it this year. True it isn't hard to make 400$, but i'm busy paying rent, bills and taking care of other things to dish out 400$ for the 40gb. I plan on expanding my collection for Ps2 probably for another year and see how next years holiday treats me. This way I could still play all my favorite games from ps2 and get a couple more for Ps3 all the great titles are coming out in 2008 anyway. As soon as the technology gets cheaper (which it will) developers will really be able to saddle up whats ment to be and give the fans what we deserve. Right now Ps3 isn't being seen as any better than the 360 and thats probably because it was just released... give it time play more Ps2 and wait for all the jaw dropping we should see in the next couple of years.

I liked Area 51 as a good replay and multiplayer. Good value and tons of playtime.
