While the first day was hugely annoying they have fixed the problem and I havent had any problems, while I would like to have an offline mode option I don't mind for now the need for a constant internet connection.
I do hope in the future Blizzard and others do give us, the customer more options because we love to help support them from the development side because it is developed well in my view as I'm enjoying it greatly. The service level on the other hand is something game companies really need to focus on now because if they want this constant connection with us, we want and expect it in return. The fact that for hours there was no response from Blizzard about the issue, either on the official forms or Facebook page, compared with Guild Wars 2 who posted constantly and kept the customer in the know.
Indeed Half-Life really did start the whole shooting genre for myself, it to took me months and months to complete the game. It will always remain the greatest. Sure there was Doom and Wolfenstein which are great games but ... dam Half-Life was just huge in.. everything! Just bring Episode 3 already!
I'm glad they revisited shogun, it's a superb game. A revisit to Rome would be good. Not to sure on era's with gun's being the standard weapon, Empire was nice but it wasn't as fun compared to Shogun, Rome and Medieval.
1. Half-Life (PC) (Owns crappy Halo 1&2!!!) This simply had the best story line possible as well as being the toughest games i've played to date. While Half-Life 2 brought the great source engine and another great storyline, and Halo & 2 may of looked all great with it's graphics however it only had an above average story line. Half-Life had something which can't seem to be copyed again. 2. C&C: Red Alert (PC + PSOne) One of the first RTS game's i played and it kept me hooked for hours on end. While there are other great RTS games out there like Warcraft 3, Starcraft and the orginal C&C, Red Alert again had something which makes it stand out of the rest. 3. Shogun: Total War (PC) All the total war games have been amazing to play but showgun started it all off for me, see loads of 2D paper men killing each other =p was great. deserves to but in my top 5. Wish i still had this game. =( 4. SSX Tricky (PS2) Out of the world tricks and funcky looking graphics, if it wasn't for this game, i'd never would of started snowboarding for real. ^_^ 5. NHL (mega drive) Have many merories of playing these games with my brother and his friends, hard tackles and fighting, cursing each other haha lots of laughs, spent hours playing this, a great game to play with your friends. Now only if i still had a sage mega drive!
