i searched th website and it says

'It appears that modified fw is NOT being detected, and is instead once again due to 'bad' discs'

Then it goes on to say

'We even have a few reports of a few trusted people in the community who were banned and had not played anything but a retail copy.'

Can anyone confirm whether they detect the Firmware or the Copied Disks?

I know someone who is selling his firmware upgraded xbox 360. It is not yet banned but he says he has never gone on xbox live because he thinks they will detect his firmware. I am thinking about buying it from him but i want to play xbox live. I will not be playing any pirated games and i just want to use it like a normal xbox. Is the way they ban you by detecting your firmware or your copied games? for example if i played an original game online with a firmware upgrade would i be fine or would they detect it. I will add again that i do not plan on playing any pirated games on this xbox.
