Do you have ANY idea how many kids play Halo and GTA? No? Well, for your information, the second best Halo player is 8 years old for example. The Xbox 360's flagship title's second best player is an 8 year old...That...is...kiddy.

Then there's XBL...No, those are not girls...Those are kids who haven't hit puberty yet

Hexagon_777

Halo has never been marketed as a ''adult'' game in the first place. So I don't see the point you are making.

We're talking about S.T.A.L.E.R shadows of chernobyl.

Max Payne 2 based on ''film noir''.

Alan Wake a psychological drama/thriller.

Also Strategy Games are definitely most of them marketed towards adults.

Just giving a few examples...

Where did I ever say that? :?

I don't see the point you are making either. :?

My responce was aimed to your other response.

Fixed now.

Video games is a children's hobby.

I like videogames now and then. But the fun factor is slowly diminishing for me. The only games that are left for me this year is Alan Wake. I'm going to play and finish that game. And then I will say a goodbye to the games industry.

I have all three consoles and a PC gaming system. And I simply haven't been much impressed this generation.

I did have the impression that games is a nice way of entertaining yourself. But its certainly in my experience a children's hobby. Even the most story driven games like Max Payne based on ''film noir'' can't compete with pure masterpieces in the movie industry.

So true. Going by his logic, Sony and Microsoft cater the least to adults because they have the least amount of Adult Only games and are therefore...kiddy!

I personally think the competition is harder this generation. Sony lost a bunch of exclusives on release. But they are clearly gaining alot nowadays and line-up for 2008 and beyond looks only better and better. I don't own a PS3. I'm planning to buy one in the future. Perhaps with MGS4.

Sony was incredibly arrogant. And this is why I on purposely abandoned them and bought a 360 instead. I don't really know what to say. Both consoles seem pretty similar except for a bunch of exclusives. Technical capabilities seem exactly same to me, wich multiplatforms can't exactly prove since designers of the games cannot exactly fully take advantage of the true potential of the hardware.

They are essentially both the same system to me. And at the time the 360 was simpyl cheaper. 600 euro's wich equals to over 900 in US dollars. Thats no joke price for a game system.

But Sony learned :)

And realised consumers aren't THAT blind to just buy it because of the popular name ''Playstation'' tagged on it.

Tough competition this year. Nintendo took a completely different route to attract non-gamers and cater to casuals. They certainly did good in a financial standpoint. They are outselling their competitors like they're weakling :P

That's sheep logic for you. Only kids play M rated games and adults only play teh E and T rated games. Shullbit at it's finest.DisPimpin

Sheep are a confused bunch :|

Enslaved by their beloved company that is Nintendo. They are prepared to turn the laws of logic upside down just to prove their point.

Kids get attracted more by violent games like Max Payne and Resident Evil.

Adults play games the way its meant to be played, to have fun.

M rated games are kiddy tbh :|

I allready made a topic about this.

Here a picture to prove my point.

Wii is for adults and open minded gamers. I know 12 year olds that have the maturity and intelligence of a 22 year old.

leejohnson7

Like my sister said, there is nothing wrong with a 22 year old showing interest in all things pink and buying barbie dolls, but whether that is open minded or not, there is something that tells you a guy like that hasn't developed very well.

Call it what you want, but saying violence is immature is absolutely stupid. I don't recall the word immature being used last time somebody was actually murdered. "well you should just grow up, honestly Mr Jones, stabbing people at your age?". You really need to stop with the role reversing. Violence is in human nature, but immaturity and violence have nothing to do with Nintendo appealing to younger audiences, as I have already said earlier. Adults watching cartoon network is another example, being open minded about actual immaturity is not good, but at least people are facing facts.

Nintendo games are aimed at young demographics, hell, nintendogs was advertised as a girls game here. Just shows that people around the world are having problems developing.

Your hypothesis is young people like games that are violent, and that makes violent games kiddy, but play that back to yourself all things considered, it doesn't make sence, I mean when have 8 year olds carved the way adults think. The real reason for this is probably to do with you playing these simple games and not liking the fact that they are indeed aimed for younger audiences. Young lads think that violent games are good a lot of the time, but they aren't meant to play them according to age restrictions, and the games are aimed at older generations. In games like GTA, they contain lots of references that only an adult would understand. You will find a lot of this just comes down to testosterone, and the age old high horse that sheep like to ride if you think about it

Almost everyone in this thread doesn't seem to understand the fact about kiddy games. So all all people who enjoy to play violent games are immature teenagers. Yes yes, I've heard this thousand times before. And it makes absolutely no sense.

Just something I remember someone have said on the forums:

''The real world in itself is a "violent atmosphere", so, using the failed logic people pathetically attempt to use, anyone who believes themselves mature here in the real world, must in actuality be an immature teenager.''

Just with the release of the Wii. I started to hear more people claiming that the terms hardcore and casual don't exist.

Nintendo fans / sheep are a confused bunch. They are prepared to turn the laws of logic upside down just to prove their point.

That said. There is still a difference between a kiddy game. And a kid-friendly game. Mario isn't kiddy. The game is kid-friendly and can be enjoyed by adults.

But seriously, some of the things I read make absolutely no sense in this thread :|

Somebody has been allowed to complete GTAIV, and he says its the best GTA yet!

http://www.gamesradar.com/f/hes-finished-grand-theft-auto-iv/a-2008040412432960029/p-1

therealmcc0y

''GTA IV. By a country mile. It craps on all the others – even the mighty Vice City – from a height equivalent to the Statue of Happiness. Believe me, GTA IV is even better than the hype suggests!''

He seemed excessively excited. I don't really know what to expect. I personally thought that the game was just a sequel. I played Saints Row and have not been impressed by it even once. And that game scored AA (8,5) here.

I'm kinda skeptical but I do hope its better then the hype suggests.

I have mine on pre-order allready since like a month ago :D Standard edition though :)
