Endgame is Thrash. Death Magnetic is not.

Relevance?

Metallica and Megadeth are Thrash Metal bands.

[QUOTE="Lonelynight"][QUOTE="VisigothSaxon"]What do you have against God and Religion, do you simple not believe it or do you not like it?VisigothSaxon

I do not believe that the Bible, Koran or any other religous text as word of God, and I believe that through obeservating the world that God either does not exist, or does not care about the world.

God has his plans for the world, he does not percieve time the way we do. A thousand years is an instant for him and he is merely waiting for the sin and evil in this world to reach his highpoint before he makes his final judgement. When I read the bible I clearly see the divine construction within.

- Scout out your classes so you know where they are to prevent yourself from feeling rushed to find the room 5 or so minutes before class starts.

- Learn the peak hours in the library. Figure out which floor(s) are most packed during these peak hours. You'll thank me for knowing this much later on.

- There are tons of people that are hired to specifically help students with their seemingly never-ending questions. Never ever hesitate to ask if you need to.

- Get the ISBN numbers of your textbooks and look online for deals; compare those prices to the ones you find at the campus bookstore. I heavily recommend using Chegg (www.chegg.com) if you need to get a textbook for one course that is not part of your major or a prereq for it; renting will save you tons of $$.

- Figure out what environment you can study in. Since you're living on campus, naturally you would want to study in your dorm. However, that's not always the best idea. For example, I can't study worth a damn in my room (I'm a commuter), but I'm highly efficient and on task when I essentially shut myself away in the library completely isolated. The sooner you learn this, the better, especially for mid-terms and finals.

- Keep the Syllabus! That document is your Bible to that certain course. Read the syllabus before asking any questions to the professor, there's a high chance that question has already been answered.

- Memorize the office hours of your professors. If a reading or homework assignment stumps you, visit them.

If I was you I would buy a decent cooler.

Overclock my CPU to 4Ghz

Buy 2GB's extra RAM (so you have 4 total)

Possibly upgrade my graphics card to a GTX460.

Daytona_178

Wouldn't a GTX460 be bottlenecked by the processor, even though it's OCed to hell?

go core 2 quad to save some money if your motherboard supports it. 4gb ram is still more than adequate for now. and while it is logical to go ddr3 the preformance gains are small over ddr2.

use the extra cash to beef up your system like some more HDD space or get that gpu a little early.

in the event you dont have core 2 quad support what you listed isnt bad but for the same price you can get a phenom II x4 and yield better results.

ionusX

My motherboard supports C2Qs.

Why a C2Q instead of jumping up to a "more" future proof socket (I heard LGA 1156 might be getting replaced)? The amount of video editing and graphic design I do is once every couple of months, so getting a C2Q is a waste in my eyes.Indeed, DDR3 isn't much of a performance boost, sadly. What would I lose (if anything) by going to a Phenom II instead of an i5?

Is there an option for an 8 band EQ?

Rikusaki

Yep.

This is one of the best EQ apps for Android. It's called MixZing.

DO WANT.

I wonder what the upgrade possibilities are for T-Mobile, I've been using an iPhone for 3 years. I also wonder how much I can get if I sell my 3GS unlocked...

After some light research, I'm highly impressed by the Galaxy S.

However, one question Riku. Since you have personal experience with the device, how good is the MP3 player? One of the major appeals for the iPhone for my end is that it's one device; I don't need to carry an MP3 player and a phone at the same time.

Rikusaki

It's excellent. The audio quality is great. And all you have to do is plug your phone into your PC/Mac via USB cable, drag and drop and you're done. No iTunes. :)

If you have massive iTunes library and you want to sync it to your Galaxy S, just download DoubleTwist onto your PC.

My goal with this upgrade is to pump out as many frames as possible as well as lowering loading times for StarCraft 2. I also do some video editing and graphic design on the side, but not as much as I used to.

I'm looking to upgrade to the i5 750 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115215), 4 gigs of DDR3 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231277), with a P55 chipset motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128405), video card coming later down the line, highly likely after the HD 6000 series comes out.

My current system:

Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.1 GHz

2 gigs DDR2 800 MHz

ASUS 4850 stock

I haven't really been keeping up 100% on hardware like I normally would be since this system has done very well for the past two years; so if there's reasoning why I should get 6 gigs of RAM instead of 4, or I should get a Phenom X2 955 BE, or whatever, explain away, I'm considering all options here.

But the ultimate question here is: Which part should I upgrade first? Which upgrade will I see the biggest performance boost with? My thinking is with the i5.
