Hit after Hit after Hit

Well its a shame, but about a half hour ago I just got the circle of death while playing Test Drive Unlimited. It's a damn shame. I'll be getting my box in the mail soon and have to send it off to Microsoft, which is kind of frustrating because if you have been following my blog you would know that I just had to send my power brick in a couple weeks ago. Whatever, I don't even care because the Customer Service woman was seriously one of the nicest people ever. Word.

A Journey for a Videogame

Well really this blog post is just a rant to how annoyed I got today for the search of the now purchased Test Drive Unlimited.

Last night I had a sudden urge to buy Test Drive Unlimited. I had some money saved up so that wasn't an issue. I was totally out of state this morning and I decided to go to a nearby Walmart to check out if they had the game in stock. I ask some shady/shaggy guy and he says "Well I've never heard of it so no." Thanks. You sure are familiar with your department. Jackass.

So I leave and drive back to my hometown and considering it's a Sunday, I'm running out of time to go to a store and buy it. Stop buy a nearby Best Buy and they don't have it either. But I did see Guitar Hero 2 for 360 and goddamn does that guitar look sweet.

I pretty much give up because someone really doesn't want me to have this game and I go home. But I was bored out of my mind, so I call literally five different places and no one freaking has it. SINCE WHEN DOES EVERYONE WANT THIS GAME? Seroiusly, I didn't care for this game at all until I saw Fast and the Furious this weekend.

Finally, I call the nearest Walmart from my house which is 25 minutes away, and well great...they have it. BUT ONLY 3 COPIES. Considering my bad luck today, I'm thinking that 3 guys are gonna come out of nowhere and grab these three copies. I am driving as fast as I can to this place, which sucks, cause the cops in that town are strict as hell. I get there, and I should probably mention that I hate Walmart. It gives me the creeps. So I grab it, buy it, and leave.

That's my today. Change of topic, why the hell did UCLA have to lose? And on top of that, by 10 (I think) points. Damn, I had them going all the way.

Oh yeah, and Test Drive Unlimited is freaking awesome.

Wii Friend Codes Make Me Wish I Didn't Have Friends

Who was the genious to come up with the idea for Wii Friend Codes being game specific? I dont think anything has prevented me playing games online like this before. I dont want to collect my friends codes from Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Wii Sports, Red Steel, blah blah blah. Its ridiculous and extremely tedious.

"Hey you got Red Steel?! That's awesome, just let me get a piece of paper and write down your 20 digit friend code so we can play online sometime later this year!!!!!"

Ill pass.

On a side note, I beat Twilight Princess, really lazy and I really don't want to write a review. I got my xbox 360 powerbrick back good as new, I completely forgot how silent an xbox 360 should be. Got Crackdown, beat it, or rather...my brother beat it and I didn't really do anything because I didn't get a chance to play it before he killed everyone. Co-op with that game is definetly no less than phenomenal.

In no way do I believe that Red Steel is a good game.

Friend codes suck.

Bully

Quick Update:

Bully review is up, yeah I know, it came out a few months ago but I wasn't able to get my hands on it until this past weekend (also take into account that I don't own a PS2). I think I did a pretty good job. Check it out if your interested.

Back to Two Generations Ago

Today, as I stayed home all I day from school, I managed to take out my old PSX and Sega Dreamcast. And all I have to say, why haven't we re-made or continued some of those old series?

First off, we need another Jet Grind Radio game. That game is awesome. The music is sweet as hell, the skating is done pretty freaking well and who wouldn't want to tag graffiti all over "Tokyo-to" in next-gen.

I also went back to Final Fantasy 8 today, which is one of my favorite (if not the) FF games. I was enjoying it so much that I went online and ordered Final Fantasy III for DS. It makes me dissapointed I can't see where this series goes because I don't have the kind of cash that I can afford a $600 system.

Then, just to see what kinds of prices DC and PSX games were going for, I decided to search for some on amazon.com. The best search I found was that MLB Baseball 2K1 was $0.01. Too bad I already have it. It's a damn shame.

I might buy a few N64 games if I can find any that are even worth buying online because it still is my favorite system of all time.

I also found out that amazon.com now sells full-sized arcade machines. I saw Time Crisis 4 for $16,000.00. I wish.

Almost done with Twilight Princess and I should have a review up as soon as I'm done within the next week or so.

Does anyone even read these blogs?

It's about G** Damn Time.

Yeah, I finally got a Wii on Sunday. Good news. I went to a nearby Target at six in the morning, and they gave out tickets at seven...Might I add I was first in line for about 20 people. They had everything there on Sunday. Wiis, PS3s (no one came for a PS3, I laughed), DS Lites. I got the Wii, Zelda, and an extra controller and nunchuk. I'm not going to write all my first impressions because A) There's too much B) I don't want to, and C) Most of you have played or own a Wii...and whose reading this blog anyways?

I first tried Wii Sports to get used to the controller, which is smaller than I expected, but it's perfect. People think Wii Sports is useless cause its free and comes with the system. Not true. I haven't had this much fun playing a video game with my dad since I tried teaching him how to play Fuzion Frenzy...what waste of time that was. He kicks my ass in bowling. I kick his ass in everything else, its better this way, I promise.

Zelda is...pretty sweet. I just beat the forest temple, not too difficult. The storyline is pretty good but a little strange and random. It seems like Link was chosen as the Hero by meer coincidence. The controls are...different...obviously. They're hard to get used to, but once you do, they're intuative.

The only issue with the Wii that I have realized is that I can no longer lay back...and just chill out and play a video game. What I mean by this is, if I have a long day of school, and just want to relax and play a game, that can't happen. Whenever I play a Wii game, there's movement involved.

So yeah, thats a longer impression than I thought I was gonna do. But I got the Wii at a perfect time. I'm sending my 360 Power Brick to Micrsoft to get a new one because for the past 7 months it makes an extremely loud sound that I used to be able to tune out and play a game. But it got on my last nerve, and my warranty expires the 26th so I needed to do it now. Alright then...later.

Edit: And I forgot to mention, doesn't really apply to anything, but I have a Snow Day today...nice.

First things First...

CMON BEARS, WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TODAY?

If Grossman would stop throwing the ball straight up in the air giving the defense plenty of time to think, "Oh there's the ball, let's move over here to intercept it." Okay okay, I can't blame this all on one man. People may say, "THE RAIN!!! OH NOES THE RAIN!!!" Yes, I thought about the weather too, but hey, were Chicago, we know how to play in the rain.

We don't really know how to hold on to the ball in the first place. How many fumbles did I count? 3...4...5? I'm too lazy to check the stats, but there was way more there should have been.

What really pissed me off the most was what happened post-game. The Colts were barely appreciative about winning the Superbowl, I mean yeah they were happy, but they didn't seem satisfied. If we won, Grossman and Lovie Smith would've been running around the field with the damn trophy.

And for the record, Payton Manning is such a baby back bi***. What a jerk (trust me, I'd be using much harsher words if this weren't gamespot, I'd be swearing my a** off) After every play he just yells at his players, "WHY DIDNT YOU RUN THAT EXTRA YARD YOU PANZEE? YOU SUCK!" Seriously, suck it up. Does anyone else think he grabs any endorsment that comes his way? "Watch the superbowl with this tv, while eating this cheese, and if something bad happens to your home while watching, this insurance will cover it, and drive this car, cause its cool." ...Cmon, grow some testicles.

And wow guys, wasn't Prince just FANTASTIC!?!?!?! I mean, the ENERGY, and that was so cool how he used his "Prince Symbol" as a stage!!!! I was practically praying for Janet Jackson to come onstage and rip her top off and have the lights go down.

Watching the game with more than one person that bet on the Colts was a huge mistake. I mean there was only a few, there was 20 other Bears fans there but having someone screaming and yelling saying "HELL YES, THATS HOW WE DO!" everytime indianapolis scores a touchdown, makes the misery so much more painful.

On a side note, the commercials were pretty good. I was satisfied.

Bears lose, but how SWEET was that return in the first 10 seconds of the game. I mean, there couldn't have been a better start than that.

Next Year.

Spore for the DS eh?

It's no secret that I'm in love with Spore. I'm going to get it when it comes out, whenever that may be. I'm a little worried my computer won't be able to take it, so I'm kind of tweakin out here. Alas, Spore has been announced for the DS. Good? Bad? I'm not quite sure.

While it would be great to have on a console because then I wouldn't have to upgrade my PC to any extent, I believe visuals are an essential part of a videogame. If the graphics are so washed down as well as the gameplay (From what I've seen of Spore, it's absolutely enormous), I'll take a pass. From what I've thought of in the past five minutes of finding this information out, I highly doubt I'll pick this up for the DS. Don't get me wrong, I love my DS, but developers have to stop making games that need outstanding gameplay and visuals to survive and attempt to bring them to handhelds. If it was announced for 360, I'd probably crap my pants in joy.

I still am on a never-ending search to find a Wii, and I'm to no avail (that sentence was a little Shakespearean no?). If you find one, send it to me, I'll pay you back. I just need one right now. I did get my 360 in Feb. after launch, so maybe this month I'll get the same luck.

Yeah so to sum up, Spore is going to awesome but suck for DS, I need a Wii. And that's the way it was.

I Just Got Told

I heard there was a sale for Rainbow Six: Vegas over at Best Buy and I could get it for only $39.99. I had a few gift cards from the holidays so I figured since everyone thought it is arguably better than GoW, I'll pick it up. I went over to Best Buy, found a good iTrip (I've been meaning to get one) and picked up RS:V. Got all my gift cards out and I head to the check-out counter. The clerk asks for an ID, and then I remember, it's an M rated game, and I'm only 16.

God. Dammit.

So I didn't get the game but I got the Griffin iTrip and car charger for my iPod out of it. Still can't find a Wii.

I think I'm getting way too into achievements than I should be. I used to not even care about them but now, I catch myself replaying games that I really don't want to play purely for the achievements. Eventually I'm going to start renting really crappy games just for the achievements. I need help.

Close Call

The word on the street was that a nearby EB Games was getting 10 Wiis last sunday...which was true. So I check online to see when it's open on sundays, which is noon, weird, but whatever.

I first go with my dad down to the navy exchange so we can try and get a Wii without tax since my dad is in the navy. They haven't had one for a few weeks...so no good. We get back in town around 11:00. There might be a line so we head to EB Games as soon as we get back. We get there around 11:15...no line. Good news. OH BUT WHAT'S THIS?? THERE IS PEOPLE INSIDE THE STORE! Turns out they opened at 9:00 and their website is a lying piece of crap. So I could've gotten one if I were to have KNOWN that they actually opened at 9. The anticipation is killing me more day by day.

As a side note. Someone should invent the lightsaber. Nuff said.

Happy Holidays.
