It's simultaneously the same beloved game and yet wildly different... The illusion that you're always moving forward is conveyed well, although you can mentally map the analogy to the first game (or even a Spire-like branching tree) pretty easily.

The combat, the immersion, and the narration are all there.

Folks, just a reminder that if you're watching Fox games on a cable box, and you have a proper 4K screen & at least Dolby 5.1 sound... Just don't.

Get an OTA antenna and amplifier, run your channel rescan, and do some testing. You should see a vast improvement in both audio and video (including proper rear channel decoding).

Some streaming sources also carry the appropriate signals.

Regardless, test before watching!

@rawrz720: Let's even include Apex Legends here, as a comparison: Great engine, fast responsive play, play for a few hours... ...and what else? Nothing else to offer to incentivise folks to get on board with a season and not enough game modes / variety to keep them interested. Just a bare-bones BR with character-shooter atop it.

So they resort to "whale envy" tactics to pay the bills.

@hydra9268: Perfectly said -- Hogwart's Legacy and (to a large part) Elden Ring are back-to-back success stories in back-to-back Q1s here.

(I'm guessing Starfield will actually release and be another solid-enough example of current-era success here too.)

@p3rrypm: One quick way to get kids away from Roblox is to show their parents the articles exposing how many Pedo games are on there. ...and the Pedos stalking those games.

That Roblox nonsense is banned on all platforms in my house, and the kids can't even add friends in Fortnite nor Xbox unless I've vetted them as real, actual kids from school, family, or local activities.

"Gabb phone/watch ONLY until you have your own job" solves social media completely.

I just keep reminding myself that this is the team that brought us Anthem, and that hope goes away again.

As an Alpha and Beta invitee for every EA game for decades, I haven't responded to a single invite since Anthem. Organizationally, they lack the competency to understand what makes a game worth one's time. It doesn't even matter which dev team you look at -- under EA, all mgmt fails to grasp what makes gaming fun. Giving detailed feedback over and over, only to have reviewers and players repeat it months later (to their same deaf EA ears), was pointless.
