@davillain: we've been using a bazooka to fire at mosquitos.

This arms race towards increasingly more realistic graphics has led us to an engine that is still in crutches.

If anything, I would like to see MS make their own engine. And Todd Howard Goes Picking Flowers in the Forest 6 might be the first game to showcase that tech on.

Microsoft already owns the best engine: id tech. Why they chose anything else for the next Halo is beyond me.

Starfield looks and runs just fine.

I guess the people voting Unreal Engine 5 must love stutters in their games 🤷‍♂️

I was reading it, but started loosing interest 🤭

Yeah someone better pay me 10eur/month to read these crappy Cow threads with less effort put into them than an average AI copy paste.

Protip: buy a PS2 or Xbox (or emulate them). There are a ton of funtastic racing games in that gen you probably haven't played.

@Litchie: Battlefield 1 and V was all about Operations and Frontlines for me. They felt like large or small scale battles respectively.

Bad Company 2 was all about Rush and I haven't really cared for Conquest in a long time.

@ghostofgolden: suspension of disbelief.

I know ww1 didn't have a ton of automatic weapons. I know soldiers weren't dressed in medieval armor carrying around a 50 pound MG firing in from the hip like Rambo fires his M60.

Yet, when I actually visited these places like Fort De Vaux they looked exactly like the game.

When you make your war game set in fantasy locations with fantasy soldiers I start to lose interest. The suspension of disbelief has faded.

@last_lap: there's so many people making funny bits with retro games

Why would I watch misery. It's like those people watching other people getting shot at or in war zones.

I'd rather watch something to lift my mood up.
