"At the Gamefest 2008 event on Tuesday, Microsoft announced that all Games for Windows Live multiplayer features are now free. These features -- including multiplayer achievements, matchmaking, cross-platform play with the Xbox 360, GFW voice chat, and more -- previously required a GFW Live Gold account. The change is effective immediately and across all GFW titles, both past and future.

In addition to making Games for Windows Live free, Microsoft will also be creating a brand new GFW marketplace this fall to rival the marketplace found on the Xbox 360. As with the Xbox Live Marketplace, GFW's will offer demos, videos, downloadable content, and more. The GFW interface will also receive some tech-friendly changes, lowering requirements for developers looking to make their games GFW compatible.

To cap off the news, two new games were revealed to be receiving the Games for Windows branding: Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II and Battlestations: Pacific. So PC gamers finally get the totally free service they've been asking for since Games for Windows launched, but is it too little, too late to save Microsoft's attempt at a PC gaming service? And will this make 360 owners question why they have to pay?"

I am really pumped for this game. I have a 360 and am thinking of making a gaming PC to play Crysis and some other games like stalker etc but like someone said Ubisoft does not have a good track record for optimization when it comes to hardware. Unfortunately niether does Crysis in its own respect. BUT that does not mean we should hold it against the game(Far Cry 2). TC has full right to be hyped over this game, and who are we to tell him otherwise?

BTW to the person who posted the Crysis Pics. What kind of System to you need to run Crysis like that?

[QUOTE="Danm_999"]

Worries me immensely when the most outspoken critics of the game are the series oldest fans.

Seriously, should be a warning sign for everybody.

AnnoyedDragon

Oh I don't know, when RPG fans start complaining about a game being dumbed down and action orientated; it is a clear sign to action loving, RPG hating crowed it may be a worthwhile purchase.

If you have never played Fallout before you may actually enjoy this game, just don't try its predecessors or you are in for a shock.

lol so very true. I learned that the hard way by playing fallout 2 for the very first time.

Not only do I NOT like the Isreali Government, I don't even like Isreal. There are soo many things wrong with the entire Isreal picture I nor many others know where to start. Name a few, It should not have been created due to it being Palistine's land, A country, if you can even call it that, pretending to be "bullied" and gathering other nations sympathy whilst it being the biggest instigator in the whole situation.

[QUOTE="PointedCow"]Also to save some money you don't have to "buy" windows for your "house" you could just go "down" to the "bay"and "load" your windows for free. Save lots of money so you can buy windows xp or vista in your retail store.PointedCow

LMAO i have considered going "fishing" for windows down at the "bay" but i want packed and reliable "fish" with all "updates" since the fishing company called "Microsoft" can find out if the "fish" is "eatable" or not its troublesome to try and "catch" that "fish" ;)

BTW i have a Windows XP professional CD, now what im wondering is can i use it on more than 1 computer? Because ive already used it.

yea you can atleast it worked for me with my 1 legit windows xp.

I never oced before, and knew nothing about it, basicly for me all i did was take the front side bus number and increase it, the bios autoed everything else. It worked aparently and its stable. Just get the E7200 its uber fast 45nm!

i heard getting updates is a real pain.

[QUOTE="mastershake575"][QUOTE="RAZZY_B"]besides the case, processor, GPU, and the RAM everything else looks fine? I think this setup is kool but the only gripe i have with it is that even without the HD4850 it is too expensive and that too without OS, Monitor, laptop and mouse. I guess i will have to either switch the quad for a dual core and decrease the ram. How much do you guys think that will cost, if i get rid of the 9600GT and add an HD4850, and get a good dual core processor and decrease to 2 gig ram. And before i forget what about the Motherboard?mastershake575

If you switch the quad for an E2180(can overclock to 3ghz in less than an hour by making a thread), drop to 2gigs, the total should come up to the low-mid 800s. It would drop alot more than that if you get a cheaper case which if you did that then it would probaly cover the cost of an operating system. As for motherboard I think it was a typo because I don't think there is such things as a P43 I think you mean't P45

Sweet thanks. Are the specs on the E2180 good or sub-par? I want to be able to play Crysis on high etc with good fps. Also the mobo, what do you think about the p4? is it any good or are there better ones worth the money.

If you overclock it to the 3ghz mark (easily possible) then your pretty much at the peak when it comes to processing power. Once you go higher than that, the framerate doesn't increase. As for motherboard if your talking about P35/P45 then yes its great espically since its a gigabyte board which are good quality.

Thans bud. Problem is i have never overclocked anything. :( Nor do i know how to. :(
