@rene9ade520 What's childish is getting mad at what someone said in a video on the internet. That is childish.

@picho86 On the internet, caring is often shown by use of rage. Still, I get what you mean.

@picho86 @RPGEndBoss Still, caring about a review score? It doesn't change how you view the game. I love a lot of games others reviewed very poorly. It doesn't cause rage or really anything in me. I just close the page and move on.

It's a review. It does nothing.

Why do people care about review scores?

@Nishhsin @bruta Kind of hard *not* to believe it, really. Laidlaw said many times before he hates oldschool RPGs, disliked tactical combat...that's why DA2 was made the way it was.

Bioware is only saying all of this to get the hardcore RPG fans back after DA2. The success of these 7-figure kickstarter old school CRPG (Shadowrun, Eternity, Torment, Wasteland 2) has a LOT to do with their change of tone. Thing is, it's only that...a change of tone. The game will still be an action-ey RPG with no depth.

Someone did an EOB for NWN1 back...god, not long after the game came out. Also, they did it for Legend of Grimrock in a mod too, so this isn't entirely new.

@Kevin-V @snugglebear @Sushiglutton Funny, I just reinstalled NWN1 and couldn't stomach it at all. Yet I played some of Eye of the Beholder 1 a few months ago and loved every minute of it.

@SciFiRPGfan That actually makes quite a big deal of sense. Probably a symptom of them trying to stay away from the shareholder trap that most tech companies eventually fall victim to. I know Gabe doesn't want anyone to have control over his company for fear of being "yet another corp", but perhaps they've become that way regardless.

Still, she should have merely adjusted her expectations and attitude to accommodate the reality of Valve's supposedly "hidden" operation style.

@RobDev Seems like a silly thing for her to get worked up about in my opinion. If management is the one thing preventing her from doing her assigned tasks, then chances are good she wasn't ready for the job to begin with.

There is a minefield everyone needs to navigate and if she couldn't find a way to do so then her company is better off without the dead weight, negativity, or victim complex.

Misleading handbook about company structure or not, an employee shouldn't be placing blame on anyone but themselves. It's a dog eat dog world out there, even if that sounds cliche.

@Evanrocknuma Yet it won't stop any one large group of humans from involuntarily dividing into such a structure anyway. It's human nature. You'll get cliques anywhere, whether it's in school or a job. Pecking order is both timeless and unavoidable.
