Breaking news -- I do not like Windows 8. Edit: I don't want to leave this post without clarifying; I've used it for maybe a week now and it'd be an understatement to use dissatisfied to describe my experience with Win 8. My take on an OS, any OS, is as such -- the OS exists with the sole purpose to support applications I want to run on it, nothing more. If the OS itself tells me what manner of applications I obtain or run, or how I interact with them will not last long on my desktop. They have brewed an unnecessary app store which only exists to collect royalties. The UI itself, however, is irrelevant. You use it long enough, you'll get used to it. -- I almost felt as if I have lost control over my own PC. The OS is "closed" and I don't like it. I'll stick with Linux and Win 7, Microsoft. Thanks.
Had you said this during the launch of a certain console. I'd argue. :P But you can get a decent pc for a bit more than a console. My first build, which is in my sig, is a little over $400. I currently use my tv for my display since is has a vga input and hdmi input. If I throw in a monitor, the price will be around $500. 2ndWonder
