Earlier today, I posted a topic about a dead pixel on my 3ds' upper screen. Later l realized that it wasn't so much a dead/stuck pixel, but a dust particle that got stuck between the screen and the plastic that covers it. I'm not quite sure if such a particle was already in there or if it entered after I got my console.

Here is where you come in. I would like to know what you would do if this happened to you. Take into account that there are a few things that are holding me back about sending my console in to Nintendo. These factors are the following; 1) The possibility of losing my data. 2) The possibility of missing out on the free eShop 'classic' download that will be issued the day the eShop opens and lastly 3) The hope that I can fix this at home without voiding my warranty with some common tool (like acan of compressed air).

Your suggestions are golden for me at this moment. Please post what you would do upon facing such a situation.

Thanks in advance...

I'm keeping it for sure. Not becaise l'm a collector or anything, but because I don't think that the Wii 2 will have backwards compatibility for gamecube and/or gamecube controller sockets. The only Wii game I own is SSB Brawl, otherwise I only use the Wii to play gamecube games. :)

To those saying that nintendo wouldn't replace my console. I can tell you, the warranty does appear to cover it.

Still Not Resolved:

If, after using the system for awhile, the tiny dot is too distracting, the Nintendo 3DS does carry a one-year warranty.

We are happy to inspect and, if necessary, fix the system at no charge within the warranty period.

Upon going to nintendo.com 3ds suppport page I found this after clicking the link labeled as; 'Either Screen has a Small, White (or Other Color) Dot on the Screen'.

Link here; http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/3ds/en_na/ts_system.jsp?menu=screen%20image%20problems

Sorry for the late response. I hadn't had the chance to answer earlier. Thanks for the responses though.

Yeah, I'll probably read up on the matter when I get home. Luckily the 3ds does have a 1-year warranty. I'll go check out the Nintendo page support section later too.

This morning, upon opening my 3ds, I noticed a white spot on the middle of my 3ds' upper screen. I'm not quite sure if it's a dead pixel because it looks as if it's above the screen and below the plastic/crystal piece that covers it. Yet, the possibility of it being a dead pixel is quite high (is it?). If it were a dead pixel, could i send it to nintendo for a replacement? Is such a damage covered by warranty? The 3ds was bought in the US (more specifically Las Vegas), would I have to contact the store from which I bought the console? or can I go directly to Nintendo?

This issue pisses me off and I can't read the booklets that adress such an issue because I'm at school right now. I only got the 3ds a little bit more than a week ago; this shouldn't be happening. Maybe a dead pixel shouldn't be considered as a big issue, yet it still bothers me alot. :(

Please answer, thanks in advance...

I've always thought about DX as Directors Cut? Maybe it could be either?

No, in the official zelda website it says it stands for "deluxe". But they don't say what is deluxe about it. :P

Ahh, alright, if it's on the official site there's no point in arguing about it :) And just like JPL, I have yet to play Link's Awakening, if it's released on the eShop I'll most probably buy it.

Well... I like Nintendo and all, but it's too soon to make a decision just know. I don't know enough about the console yet, but I'm not goint to lie to you; that price tag sounds nice for a next gen console with a tablet controller included :P

The GameCube was never referred to as the N64-2, and the N64 was never referred to as the SNES-2.

Wii 2 isn't a name for anything other than some dumbass who doesn't understand naming convention. You can go ahead andsupport it, but I am not stupid. Project Cafe is the codename for the system, and until it is officially unveiled, it will be referred to as such because that is what Nintendo has currently named it.

Are you implying that calling it Wii 2 makes you stupid? How so?

People arefreeto call it Wii 2,it doesn't make them stupid. I could call you a troll, that wouldn't make me stupid either, even if that wasn't your name.
