I have to say this looks pretty amazing, but I was hoping Phantom Pain would be a second chapter of the game, or a separate game, where you get to play as Solid Snake. I am getting tired of all these Big Boss games already.

This looks really good! I love the art style and the gameplay looks fun. It would be awesome if it came out on PS3 or PS4.

For the life of me I cannot understand why people don't like Curse of Darkness. I thought it was a fantastic Castlevania game. I've replayed the crap out of it. It had the Castlevania music, the Castlevania gameplay, it was basically Symphony of the Night in 3D. It captured that proverbial Castlevania feel quite well. Lords of Shadow, on the other hand, was terrible. It had this awful, summer-Hollywood-blockbuster-esque music which was a far cry from what we know and love as Castlevania, gameplay was a shameless copy of God of War and DMC, there were an insane amount of puzzles. I mean, it was puzzle, after puzzle, after puzzle until I was yelling in frustration at my TV, "...is this Castlevania or fu$#&*^% Puzzlevania. And what's that stupid trend that all franchises seem to be on lately, "reimaginig"?! More like, "..you know all these games that you loved and cherished and grew up with and all the great storylines that occurred in them. Yea, none of those ever happened. It's like WTF!"

Yea, LOS was terrible. I bought it, played it, and immediately sold it back and I'd never done this with another CV game before. Heck, I even kept my copy of Lament of Innocence, another pretty lame CV game.

This trailer looks good, but it doesn't tell us anything about the gameplay. I'll reserve judgement until I see more. I will say this, though. I was disappointed with the first game, for the following reasons:

--there were way too many puzzle. It was a puzzle after a puzzle, after a puzzle, after another darn puzzle. I called it Puzzlevania instead of Castlevania. None of the games before had nearly as many, if any puzzles, so as such it was a huge departure from what I am used to when I play a Castelvania game.

--the music did not fit the Castlevania mood. It was full of these epic, grand pieces one would expect from a cheesy big budget Hollowood summer blockbuster. It lacked the quirky, spooky, Gothic themes that have defined Castlevania for decades. Give me the old school SOTN music over this uninspired crap any time of day.

--the gameplay didn't feel like Castlevania, it felt like some weird rip-off hybrid of God of War and Shadow of the Colossus, and not a very good one at that.

--they messed up the story. I thought Dracula was that weird guy from Lament of Innocence. Now we find out Dracula is actually a Belmont. wtf! I hate when they retcon well establish plot elements like that.

If they don't make any of mistakes above I may give it a chance, otherwise I'll likely pass.

hey Giancarlo, you are a douche bag. Why don't you give SONY a break and attack the real villains in this story, the hackers. SONY did everything they could to bring PSN back online and gave us all a fair warning that our info was stolen.
