Gothix, a Dragon's Call(http://dc.gamedp.com) player, was absolutely pissed off by [GH] Haze, a player volunteer, due to the action of muting him in game. Furthermore, Gothix thinks Haze has a strong discrimination for the whole gay community. Gothix is very sensitive about this kind of problem in game. He decided to give the whole GH(Game Helper, player volunteers) team and Dragon's Call an official warning after he found out that he could not even type the word Gay in the world chat (The word Gay is in the in-game filter). He stated that even Blizzard had received a Gay Rights Warning in order to tell Dragon's Call official this was a serious problem. Also he reminded everyone that the Gay Pride Week 2010 was coming soon.I think this is the stupidest thing people are worried about. As far as I am concerned, when I am playing a game, I do not want any references to homosexuals. Why? Because it is not needed and I am not interested in their rights [Sorry, I worry about more important things]. If a game character is gay and it is relevant to the story, then I don't mind.Necessary or unnecessary?

WaLuigi. It's a simple topic. Have you ever encountered a character in a video game that struck the right cord with you? Maybe their story, attitude, or ambitions were similar to yours, or their general demeanor struck you as admirable or something to look up to. If the answer is yes, this topic is for you.
While I could probably name at least a few characters here, the one that sticks out in my mind most is Cid from Final Fantasy VII. While I actually dislike most of the characters in the game, Cid is a huge exception to the rule. He's highly motivated, open and unashamed of his dreams of space travel, and scientifically minded, with a righteous streak that balances out his otherwise uncouth and abrasive demeanor. He's basically the kind of guy I've grown into being, whether I realized it or not.
So go nuts. Maybe you found the L-block from Tetris to be particularly appealing, or you're a sucker for Q-Bert. Whoever it is, let's see what you've got.

I see the other thread was locked, which is too bad.
I was trying to make a point about the Kinect interface being inherently flawed because of its lack of buttons and haptic feedback of any sort.
Someone had mentioned that "You can use a controller with Kinect", but so far, no games have been even hinted to use that control scheme. Everything we've seen is strictly voice and motion capture.
I suppose a hybrid is possible, where you hold the controller, possibly in one hand, but that sounds awkward and definitely isn't part of the "Kinect vision". Kinect's slogan is "You are the controller", not "You are the controler and you have to hold another controller awkwardly in one hand".

It was me, and it was in the opening post....
-which if you would have read it before replying-
....would have seen that's what the thread was about, how Kinect may bridge the gap between casual and hardcore games, and what the FIFA example was showing. Don't mean to come down on you so hard, but I did take some time writing that one and think it's a great topic for discussion so it was dissapointing to see no one was really reading it before replying.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure they have mentioned that you can use the controller with Kinect. Why would holding the S Controller in your hand like you always have be "awkard"?
Edit: Ironically, a day after I write that and the thread gets locked we go ahead and apparently get "confirmation" of this: Kinect will have core games this fall.
PS: Hey mods can I re-open a discussion about this now? I have a lot of informative and interesting things to say about it.
Seriously, is there anything these guys won't lock threads for; it's like walking a mindfield and is getting boring.[QUOTE="alexwatchtower"][QUOTE="rragnaar"]Let's all tone down the rhetoric. There is no need for these threads to get nasty. I think Kinect has potential, but I don't think the launch lineup is meeting that potential at all. rragnaarAgreed.
PS: Except I would like some clarification on you locking my other thread. A post listing pricing and a thread that's trying to discuss how it works/can work should be merged together? I'm confused. Why would you want to bring that discussion in here? I don't understand.
It seemed like you and Dire Weasel were carrying on the same argument in two different threads, and things in that one were getting too heated. I figured consolidating it and asking people calm down might get some discussion going. So what if they are arguing? What do you think forums are for; compliments, rainbows and flowers? Let people breath. Anyway, Kinect is way over priced. If people don't have a Wii, then, why wouldn't they just buy a Wii instead?A few games come to mind for me... Heavy Rain, Uncharted 1/2, Bioshock 1/2 & probably my favourite, Half-Life 2.hrt_rulz01Go the Rabbitohs!
