2012: A New Gaming Year

Gonna finish up with The Darkness II's achievements and then hopefully be playing Syndicate next week

Getting pretty hyped for the new MLB 12 The Show, looks on being the best yet and then Resident Evil:Operation Racoon City two weeks after that

I'm hoping 2012 is a better gaming year for me then 2011 was because I had some let downs such as Brink and Rage being the biggest 2 Skyrim came in at the end of the year(almost litterally) to save me and as for the big 2 war games Battlefield 3 killed MW3 and to prove it I see some friends still playing BF3 while they have abandoned MW3.I think I owned MW3 only a month and a half before I traded it in,I may just try and Gamefly the next COD instead of putting out $62 bucks,it was a good game for the first month, but then I grew tired of the online so it got traded for $30 credit

The Darkness II wasn't an overall disappointment, but it could have been alot better then what it was, just seemed that they replaced thing that didn't need replacing and removed features that didn't need to be removed, but other than that it was a good game

Don't think I'll be purchasing many games this year, but MLB 12,The 2 Resident Evil games,Ghost Recon Future Soldier and my favorite game I'm waiting for Borderlands 2

Brink and L.A Noire on the horizon

This summer is gonna be a good one for video games and I think the best will be coming in Brink and L.A Noire.
Obviously the "Big" games are comingat the end of summer and in the middle of fall, but these 2 games should hold everyone over, plus with a Duke Nukem game FINALLY coming out and other good contenders hitting the consoles it shouldn't be a disappointing summer at all

Wii is gone,PS3 maybe?,360 next?"30 Days Of Night" and more

Well,it's been 5 months,so I guess I should update this thing..ok...here we go...

2 days ago I sold my Wii to a friend due to the fact I wasn't playing it,i just had no interest in any games, the ones I were interested in were party games and I had no one to play them with so..I had to sell it,along with the 2 games and I got myy money back since they were all practically new.

MLB 08 :The Show is what I want a PS3 for,it looks and from people who have played it,sounds like the best baseball game ever, last year was a bad year as I had to deal with 2k8,but not this year,I either spend the money I got, which I should just save, and but a PS3 and The Show or not play a baseball game..it has been forever since I did not have a baseball game,I think 12 years since I didnt have a baseball game,I don't wanna not have it,this time of year and all through summer it's a great game to play and pass time and have fun

My 360 has been good to me....somewhat,a couple crappy games and just 3 or 4 that I love playing, but truth be told,I don't think I'm happy with it right now,I mean besides Rock Band giving me new song every week and DLC,there hasn't been much to brag about, the Christmas screw up was the big thing, hardly anyone could sign on cause of the massive overload of gamers on at once,it may have been a record for Microsoft, but it was a pain in the a** for us,Gear Of War 2 is the only real XBOX exclusive game I'm looking forward to...so with that said,I may or may not be rid of the 360 and bring back sony, which was my first "post-Sega Genesis" system that I owned, went from PS One to PS2,but aquired a Gamecube and an XBOX to join with it,but when the next-gen systems hit,I went to the 360 leaving Sony behind,I wasn't paying the amount of 2 360's for just 1 PS3,but since the price dipped and they grew back their sanity for having such a high price,I am interested in switching, half of the games I like are available there except for Bioshock,Gears Of War and Dead Rising, but since Gears 2 is coming in fall and Bioshock 2 is just now in the works and Dead Rising sequel up in the air,I think a PS3 change wouldn't be that bad.

I saw "30 Days Of Night" about 2 weeks ago and loved it,it's a good vampire movie,it's what I believe vampires to be besides these cleaned up,human acting wannabes,I believe that if they existed, they would be how they were portrayed in the movie, blood thirsty,savage-like creatures,no shifting or changing, just a creature that has to hide from the sun because they CAN'T change into human form and hide themselves behind that, all in all it was a good movie and I look on reading the book.

Seems The Philadelphia Eagles may be in a rebuilding stage as 2 good defensive weapons were cut in the forms of Takeo Spikes and Jevon Kearse with Asante Samuel being the only good improvement,I think the Eagles are starting the offseason off badly, but I guess we'll have to see what the rest of the offseason brings, but for now,it's not looking so hot for the Eagles.

Thats about it for now, guess the next couple days will decide a couple things...hopefully it will be all good.

Later

Games

For some of the big or most recent released games so far that I've played....

Kane & Lynch : Dead Men = A overhyped piece of crap, nothing felt or looked right and the story is boring and belongs some action film that went straight to dvd! I lost $35 dollars to that game,I took it back the day after I got it,I didnt even finish the 2nd mission I was so f'n disgusted and angry with this damn game!

Assassin's Creed = A very good game,it may not be what I was expecting, but it did not disappoint me at all,it'sone ofthe best games I've purchased so far this year.

WWE Smackdown VS. Raw 2008 = This year's installment is bad..to say the least, still NO downloadable content, still NO good storyline mode and the 24/7 mode is just the worst thing they have ever put in this game series, besides Snitsky, the combo of gm and story mode takes away from doing more cause if you do one,you can't do the other without starting over..it sucks. The new wrestling **** thing is good and the wrestling itself is good so..it can pass as a playable game, just the main modes are bad.

Resident Evil : The Umbrella Chronicles = I have not had much of a chance to play as today I got the Wii Zapper and was waiting for it to play the game better, but from what Ive palyed so far it's ok.

Call Of Duty 4 : Modern Warfare = It's a great game with the shortest single player mode Ive played so far, maybe an hour less then GRAW 2 which is about 6 hours,I actually am into the multiplayer for Xbox Live, just too bad there are no achievments for the multiplayer, but it is a good game and a good story too, like the ending,it reflects GRAW 2's ending a little, just a little.

TimeShift = The usage of the time abilities are good and the gameplay is good too,it's just a normal first person shooter, but with time control abilities, good game period.

Guitar Hero III : Legends Of Rock = This my first playing experience in the Guitar Hero series and it's a great game, good music, good controls, and most of all it's f'n fun...that's all!

I also got Guitar Hero II to play the songs in their...only thing that sucks i that over half the songs are not played by the original band or artist, but it;s still good and I got Stubbs The Zombie : Rebel Without a Pulse..thought it looked funny and have been lookin for it for a while,it's ok..a little weird, but ok..not bad for a Xbox game.

Wii News!

I went in to pick up my copy of TimeShift and by luck came in at the right time as the shipment came in with my game and a couple Wii's and so I purchased one and am now a owner of the Nintendo Wii.
I took my reserve off of Army of Two since it's been delayed until March{from what Gamestop says} and I put it down on the new Resident Evil Chronicles,so now in the dates of November 14th-16th,I'll be picking up 4 games now that Kane & lynch have been moved up a week and one will be my official first Wii game purchase{I'm not counting Wii Sports cause it came with the system},I was thinking og getting Resident Evil 4 or Manhunt 2,but I just went with the chronicles for now,but there is a chance I may get Manhunt 2 as I've heard Resident Evil 4 is just the same game from the PS2 version just with Wiimote abilities.

I don't know if I'm going to actually shop around that much for Wii games already having all these 360 games coming in,but I will purchase the browser for the Wii and get some oldies, but goodies from it.

This purchase was a surprise to even me as I had no plans of purchasing a Wii anytime soon, but with the slim chance of getting it at another time being slim as hell,I opted to go through with it,even tho I originally planned on getting a new 360,it loks as tho I will now spend more money than I thought as I do need to replace my 360 as it is not horrible, but I want to prevent it from going red on me.

Just a blog

Well, I got my copy of Tony Hawk's Proving Ground and it's a good game, but everywhere I look it's getting bashed and it's not cause it's not the best Tony Hawk game ever,it's mainly because of skate, all I keep hearing is that they have played it and have had such a different experience than they did with the Tony Hawk game that they are apparently "done" playing the Tony Hawk games and are into the new Skate, well,I played the demo of skate and I preferred the Tony Hawk game over it just because the controls were a little off as I would do things such as grind something, but I didn't hit a button,so that would make me a little ticked because I would be in the middle of trying a goal or whatever and I would mess up cause I would be grinding,so yeah,I wasn't into the whole "flick-it" control thing,it could be something big if it where made and you had control over everything you did and wouldn't do anything you didn't want to,but ok,anyways,Proving Ground IS a good skating game,IS fun and IS worth getting, even over skate, but many will disagree with that as some just don't seem to want to believe that some people can't use the controls or even choose to not like them, well, skate is a different take on skateboarding games, but that doesn't mean it's your only choice and should be put on a throne and labeled "King Of Skateboarding Games",I'm not saying it's the worst game or even a bad game, all I'm saying is that some don't like skate and some just want to stay loyal to the Tony Hawk series, that's all there is to it,everyone has there opinion so skate fans should just get over it.

I also on that same visit to Gamestop traded in Bioshock and Halo 3,but I did not beat either,I just was going in between too many games and just couldn't play them as much as I wanted and for some reason I just lost interest in Halo 3 all together, but I was into Bioshock,I'll just pick it up later when I don't have as many games to play and have some extra time because it is and extraordinary game and is in my opinion a must play.

The next couple of weeks I'll be playing alot of new games as I just reserved TimeShift and Kane & Lynch : Dead Men,I still have a couple of weeks til Army Of Two,Assassin's Creed and Smackdown Vs. Raw '08 come out on the 13th or a day or two after and then the week after is when Kane & Lynch comes out,but TimeShift will be out a week from Tuesday on the 30th,altho the guy at Gamestop did say maybe Halloween, but whatever.I'll have Proving Ground and TimeShift to hold me over til the week of all my reserves are released.

I also re-acquired Dead Rising to hold me over,I just love the game too damn much and I wanted it back..so i I did.

I am one of many who are waiting for November to arrive as all the huge titles will be released and this is a personal achievement of sorts as the most games I have ever reserved at once...this holiday season is just too damn big.

As for movies I watched "Planet Terror" and it was way better than "Death Proof" which is the other half of Grindhouse as both were released as one film, but it was cool,it had action, gore, humor and a couple of "what the f***?" moments,so it was a good movie and "The Reaping" was also a good movie, nothing like I thought it was gonna be and I'm glad, obviously.

It's over...

The Phillies have been eliminated from the playoffs by the Rockies and they were swept to make it worse.

All I have to say is that the Rockies didn't beat the Phillies, the Phillies let them beat them and at some points beat themselves....they were no where near ready for the playoffs and now it's going to be a interesting off-season as a couple of players might be leaving and the manager might be gone as well, but only because his contract is up.

Took them 14 years to reach the playoffs, hopefully I'm not dead when they do it again.

'Fantastic Four : Rise Of The Silver Surfer' Review

Fantastic Four:Rise Of The Silver Surfer

Just watched the new Fantastic Four movie and kinda have mixed feelings about it.
It had some good action scenes, but not too many, but the biggest bummer was that the Galactus character which is the giant force that eats planets and is in the shape of giant robot, was turned into a damn cloud...that's all I have to say about that, except that they ruined Galactus!

The Silver Surfer/Human Torch chase scene was cool and it has the top vote from me for best action sequence, but other than that this movie really didn't help The Fantastic Four franchise they were hoping to build,it pretty much made it worse, the 1st movie was ok and had a good feel to it,but the sequel, well the Silver Surfer was the best character in the film and also had the best scenes and thats not saying much as he wasn't in the film as much as hoped.Doom's return was short and sweet, nuff said!

It only ran just barely and hour and a half and that was surprising as I thought they would have made a better effort to make this film bigger and longer seeing that the Silver Surfer was in it and he would add to the scenes as well as Doom, but it wasn't to be as it was just not long enough to be a good super hero movie, the humor was great in the film, but it is supposed to be a action film and not a comedy,so they could have added more action to equal the humor.

This film was not what I was expecting and could and should have been bigger and way better!

Halo 3 Hype

Well,Halo 3 is here and I've just purchased my copy yesterday and to reply to all the Halo 3 hype that has been built up for the last year and a half or so I have to honestly say it's all good.

The game plays well and the graphics are good as well,so the Master Chiefs final mission and legacy are looking to end in a good way as the game does not disappoint and is a great FPS and will go down as one of if not the best FPS game as well as the franchise itself.

Halo has done alot for gaming since it's debut years ago and it has yet again done something good for gaming on it's departure, even know the Halo Wars will extend the Halo universe a bit next spring,it will without a doubt always be Halo and it's main character and leader Master Chief that will go down in gaming history and be remembered the most for what they gave gamers and what and for what the gamers gave back with Halo without question is the one of the best video game franchises ever.

So after you "Finish The Fight",you can be proud and happy that you did!
