Game Delays

5 big name games have already been pushed back to 2008 and those 5 being Resident Evil 5,Mercenaries 2,GTA 4,Brothers In Arms:Hell's Highway, and Battlefield:Bad Company.

Now with just those games alone, this being dubbed the "biggest gaming season ever" with all the releases of other big names such as Assassin's Creed,Call Of Duty 4 and many others counting Halo 3 which was just released just 3 days ago,the removal of these 5 big titles could have made this gaming season the gaming season that would be untouchable as far as what was scheduled to be released, all that popularity level and high demand would have sent gamers into a frenzy to decide what to get and would have just been a blessing and a nightmare to gaming retail stores all over.

With some games being delayed for "polishing" and some being delayed for some reason that no one knows and a game that has gotten one release date which was slated for Oct/Nov of this year and since that was changed has been labeled as TBA,which is an annoying status for gamers, that game being Resident Evil 5{which is now being rumored for a late 2008/early 2009 release}.What made alot of these games more unique and sought after is the fact that half of them are all continuations of a successful game franchise or in Halo's case a conclusion, with Mercs 2 and GTA 4 being the top 2 series installments being so anticipated, they both will see a Jan/Feb release,or as the official saying is "Quarter 1 2008"

This gaming season will in fact be the biggest one yet,but the games that could have been apart of it were some that will now make alot of gamers anticipate the arrival of 2008.

Halloween Review

Halloween 2007

Many were skeptical of upon hearing that Rob Zombie had decided to take on the task of new version of John Carpenter's suspenseful horror film and many were anticipating what the final outcome would be,so...here it is!

"Halloween" has hit theatres across the land and many have seen what Rob Zombie has done and many enjoyed it more than the ones who did not.
Rob Zombie has done well in bringing out a new take on what made Micheal Myers become the evil the world knows him as and did so by simply taking a deeper more descriptive look at what Micheal's family was like and what he had to be put through and the punishment and abuse he was put through, the verbal abuse from home and the physical abuse from his experience at school.
He lets you in to the mind of Micheal Myers and shows you how the evil was put into Micheal and what fed it until it came out with the obvious results with his murderous rage.
After the Halloween night murders he takes you into the mental facility with Micheal after he is taken away and you go along through the experience Micheal had to go through there at such a young age and you can see the effect that his mental mindset and being inside the facility has on him and his remaining family.
Then you see what Micheal has become as a much older patient and how he has become more silent and unresponsive to his surroundings and how he ultimately escapes to return home.
From there you can see some familiar scenes from the original that Zombie has done differently in his own way and they turned out to be good and you go through more of Laurie Strode's family life more and you actually see how her parents were.
And then you have Dr.Sam Loomis, the man who could sense the evil growing within Micheal, but was unsuccessful in convincing others to try and heal Micheal before it was too late and the man who treated Micheal through all those years within the mental facility who has to again try and convince others of the danger they in with the return of Micheal Myers.
On his murder path to Laurie you see the cold and rageful evil come out with every murder as he stalks and kills through Haddonfield and the encounters he has with familiar people from his life.
Rob Zombie has put a new look and feel to Micheal Myers and it has become a little more darker then before and the actors that portray the characters played them well as Malcolm McDowell does well to the Sam Loomis character, not better than Donald Pleasant, but he did the role good,Daeg Faerch who plays young Micheal did well in his role as well, and Scout Taylor Compton did well as the main focus of Micheal Laurie Strode, she can definitely scream good, and while she was in the film for a little bit Sheri Moon Zombie{Rob's wife} did a fine job as Micheal's mother as she went through the change with Micheal.
The one part of the film that could possibly be the talk of alot of discussions concerning this film is the ending, after witnessing what is one of the most shocking ending's to a film I've seen I was mainly speechless and had alot of thoughts going through my mind.

So the bottom line is that if you want to see a good horror film,a new version of a horror film or both,Halloween is a good movie to go see as Rob Zombie makes a good film that was alot different from his first 2 films "House Of 1,000 Corpses" and "The Devil's Rejects".

Good Gaming

The last year in gaming for me wasn't that bad,I saw some games that I liked to have played get cancelled or delayed to where they don't even know when or if it will be released. But I played some good games this year, such as Black,a great FPS that is alot close to being real as alot of the next gen games are and MLB 06:The Show which was a great baseball game,I aslo played 24:The Game which is based off of my favorite TV show, even tho I wished they hadn't made it cause I had feeling it wouldn't have been that good as fan or just a action video game player and I was right,it didn't have the same feel as the show or as a game in general.I played some games that were ok,but I didn't really paly that many games other than the one's I just said until around August when Dead Rising came out and I got hook big time to that game and still am.I don't think I can ever bring myself to getting rid of that game and another game was Saint's Row,that wasn't that bad..more like a street gang type of GTA and had a couple of similarities to that as well.Around October-November I started to play other games,I tried out Gears Of War which is a excellent game and I got the new Smackdown!Vs Raw 2007 game as well which is alright for now,I also had the Marvel:Ultimate Alliance and it wasn't that bad, pretty cool to have alot of choices in super heroes and a good story to go along with it.In November I tried out the Wii that my friend got on the launch day and it was pretty damn cool, played the Wii sports and that Rayman game and it wasn't that bad of an experience,I played the Madden and Marvel game for them and they weren't that bad for the Wii,different tho,but not bad.I never actually played a Mario game before other than the Mario Party games,so I started playing Super Mario 64 and it's actually pretty cool,I was used to the Sonic games so this was a little change for me,but it was cool.I recently got the game I've wanted to play for awhile F.E.A.R. and it is a great game, very intense and action filled and it almost feels like Black a little with the "movie-style" effects and it's got that Resident Evil type eerie effect too.So right now I'm hoping on getting some new games and trying out the new Rainbow Six:Vegas game,I played the demo and it looks awesome,Prey was also a good demo I played, pretty long too for a demo.Awaiting the new Resident Evil game still and seeing when I'll be able to play it and the 3rd Halo game that is suppose to be out at the end of this year sometime.I also was just informed that Mercenaries 2 isn't coming out for the 360 and is a PS3 exclusive title, which sucks cause I don't wanna pay for a damn PS3 when it's like $600 or whatever and my favorite baseball game is also a PS3 exclusive too, bulls***!

Hoping on having a good gaming year in 2007.

"The Marine" Review

I saw the WWE Films newest release to dvd "The Marine" starring the current WWE Champion John Cena and I have to say I was hoping it would be good.I am not a John Cena fan and haven't been since the begining, but like my dislike for The Rock in the ring, but liking of him in movies,I was hoping I would like Cena as an actor in a movie rather than his wrestling as well.

This film was a cheap action movie that you would see on basic cable somewhere instead of on HBO or Showtime. The acting wasn't bad,but some parts of the film were just ridiculous and the storyline was just too generic for this type of film,I can see why it was put on dvd so fast,to be honest it should have gone straight to dvd.

I saw the first WWE Films movie "See No Evil" with Kane and that was a whole hell of alot better than this movie, maybe thats why it was in theaters longer than "The Marine".Cena didn't do that bad of a job acting,it was just stupid script writers who just didn't have a good script for this film, but as for action wise it wasnt that bad,too many explosions where John Cena's character was jumping out of as they were exploding and then there were these really awkward scenes where you didn't know what was going on or why things that were happening.

I heard that Cena is set to do another film soon,if it's for WWE or not I don't know, but I hope his second go at it isn't a bad as this, hopefully he'll have a good script and a better film that can show how much he can do other than jump out of  5 or 6 exploding buildings and focus him on an actual story and have a better character.

Well the next WWE film to come out will be"The Condemned" starring "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and being a big Stone Cold fan I'm hoping it will be good,he did a pretty good job in "The Longest Yard",but as for "The Marine",all I have to say is that it could have been alot better.

"Hostel" Review

This movie wasn't that bad,it also wasn't as gory as everyone was expecting, unless they are saving that for the DVD features.

It's story wasn't too bad,it had a few good twists and it also had it's fair share of laughs and gasps. The acting wasn't all that bad and there was about a 10 minute span on where the most violent and gruesome scenes were shown there were a couple towards the end.
The ending wasn't what everyone was looking for,but I guess that's why they have already started on the sequel which as of right now is due out the same time next year, same as the SAW director's did with their sequel.
Hostel wasn't that bad and it's wasn't as close to what people had imagined it would be,but it was a good movie and I will be looking forward to the DVD hoping on some good extras and special features.

Hostel

This film looks pretty good,it looks like almost a combination ofSAW andThe Texas Chainsaw Massacre.Eli Roth did a pretty good job at making Cabin Fever a little gorey and it looks like he might be making his "break through" film with this one, especially with Tarantino backin' him up.
They are saying its the scariest movie and has the most gruesome murder and torture scenes seen in a movie in a long time.
I'm hoping on goin to see this on friday night,it looks to be a pretty cool thriller.

The 360!

I'm gonna try and get the Xbox 360 within the next couple of months.I was looking at the game prices and they aren't that cheap,so I'll probably be starting my 360 game collection slowly.Lookin' forward to see what a Resident Evil game looks like on an Xbox when Resident Evil 5 is released. And I'm also awaiting the new Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon:Advanced Warfighter game which will also be on the 360,I might actually start my collection off with that game.

the 360 looks amazing and is most definately has the most realistic looking system graphics. It will be interesting to see what games they come out with in the future for the 360 and see if they some of them start a whole new generation of games.

Disturbed Show

On Friday night...

I went to the Electric Factory to see Disturbed and it was another great performance from one of the great bands of today.Dope and A Dozen Furies were good openers for Disturbed,a band by the name of Corrosion Of Conformity were supposed to be there, but they had dropped off the tour for some reason, but it was still a good show with A Dozen Furies replacing them.

I also recently found out that Disturbed will be doing a new version of Triple H's theme song. They did a great job with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's theme song with "Glass Shatters",so this should be interesting to hear what Disturbed's version of The Game's new theme song sounds like.

Plus Disturbed will be lending their song "Stricken" to the New Years Revolution PPV for the WWE.Where the main event will be an Elimination Chamber match.
