I dont know if 69c under 100% load is really that bad, Most people say thats too hot, but you would never come close to that with regular use.

I'm guessing the memory isn't fully compatible, updating the bios might fix it, or exchanging the ram for a different brand, it could be something else tho, maybe check the jumpers on the hard drives & dvd drives (but that wouldn't really relate to the bios problem)

I wouldn't worry too much about flashing the bios ive probably done it 100 times, no problems, but i do know a guy who ruined his board that way so i dont know.

I think intel says c2d is safe up to 1.55v, as long as the temperature is ok.

You can buy adapters for a couple dollars, your psu might even come with some.

try clicking on the speaker in sytem tray, go to options/properties, check off micro phone, and see if its muted

Edit: oh wait thats how to do it in xp,sorry, maybe vista is similar?

I upgraded from a mildly overclocked 6600TD to a 7600GS, there was about a 5fps difference.

then from a 7600GS to a 8600GT and it was about 3 times as fast. my fear fps went from 30fps to 90fps.

8600 can max dirt, 1024x768 ultra setting plus 2xAA @ 30fps
