[QUOTE="mugadai"]so if im looking at the right thing...is RADEON X300 SE 128MB HyperMemory any good?and should there be 2?yoyo462001

That cards really good but you need to run it in sli-fire mode with a fx5500 for best performance.

what?? you got it all wrong. its not an nvidia card so you can SLI. you sli an ati card and nvidia card and plus hsi cards extremely old. you WILL need tob uy a new gpu if you want to play games released in the last 2 years.

NO!! you can play new games just fine, all you need is a sound card with dvi outputs. /and as long as your psu can handle it its no problems,.

Just leave it, playing around with it either does nothing or makes things worse.

If your using a sata1 drive with a sata 2 controller try putting a jumper on the 150mbps pins on the back of the drive, hopefully you have that jumper but i dont think all drives do. It can also happen if you overclock too high, I think there's other things that can cause it, but that fixed it for me.

another screen shot of the control panel would help too.

Only other thing i can think of is it Might have something to do with all the audio devices, the on board audio should be disabled in the bios, and the 3870 has some sort of sound chip on it, that probably has to be disabled somehow too. i dont know for sure but i think you can only have one sound card, if you have more than one you get some kind of error. but im not sure about that i could be wrong.

and ethernet drivers.

I guess I dont know then?

PCI device? i thought it was a sm bus controller.

PullTheTricker

sm bus controller just disapeared when I installed the intell software utility.

Now it says PCI device not properly installed.

Maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling your sound and video card drivers, and *remove the drivers for you old video card if there still there.
