I'd get the huge cable, I use to have a 50Meter one and got it for about 10 pound (about 20 USB). I now swapped to using a Wireless Adapter but the gaming signal I got with the huge ethernet cable was much better, get that in my opinion.

Hi,

Usually when going on XBL i used a ethernet cable into my router and it all worked fine. Today i picked up a Wireless Gaming Adapter from Microsoft for my xbox. Well basicly when im doing my test to get onto XBL it keeps failing at IP Address. Iv'e tryed everything possible from turning my router on and off and my modem to reseting all my settings on both Router and Xbox 360, someone please help!

Thanks, Rasesh.

Well Im a parent and I dont let my son play anything M rated at all. He can have whatever else he wants though.

The reason I like the 360.

Big time parental control to where I can even set it to how many HOURS he plays. and games like Banjo Kazooie, Viva Pinata, all the sports games.

As long as hes not on XBL Im okay, and playing the games that he SHOULD be playing. Its no way he can even sniff Gears 2, or any M rated game.

I'd hate to have you as my parent..

The adapter should automaticallyl acquire the IP address by itself, make sure EVERYTHING in the xbox network settings is set to automatic and if you did login to your router and changed settings tell us which ones, and honestly i'd just revert anything you did back to default, make sure no static IP's are set in your router as most internet providers do not support that, its all dynamic/dhcp, so try that and see if that helps at all.OneLessFinger
Well I had a play about with 87% of the settings but realised i messed up my router and then I put it intoa factor reset so everything reset back to normal. Everything is on automatic, and it finds the IP and all , but it just keeps saying failed on the test, i have no idea for this and iv'e rang customer support and they couldnt help either.

type in the ip adress manualy, just copy your pc's ip adress, the only downside is that you won't be able to use them both at the same timejrabbit99
Tryed it, didn't work.
