"Consumers unlikely to buy next-gen console that blocks used games"

Stating the OBVIOUS isn't a headline nor should it take a "Analyst" to figure out. It's really sad I'm sitting here un-employed when this article I'm reading is showing me at least two people who shouldn't be getting a pay check right now because they're both stating common sense things any 10 year old can figure out.

Our society is getting dumber every day. Maybe I need to start calling my-self a "Analyst" so companies will pay me to tell them stuff that every single one of their customers will tell them for free. It's not a coincedence that anal is in the word analyst, because companies who pay these people to tell them common sense things are getting totally screwed!!!

Best reply/comment in this whole disscusion. Here in America most of the normal common people have a corporate slave mentality...until they get laid off for no good reason and then realise they were laid off so some CEO d-bag could have a bigger bonus to their already million dollar salary.

What's worse is the gaming industry is NOTORIOUS for hiring people to do a game/job then IMMEDIATELY firing them once the game is done, even if the game is a huge commercial success. It's disgusting to say the least. At best the companies could be up-front and say "We're hiring you to work on this specific game, once it's done you'll be looking for another job.", but they never say that, even though today in the industry it's almost a given that you could bet on.

As for them "Ditching" their Always On DRM? They didn't. Assassins Creed 3 Requires you to be logged in through "Uplay". Did they ditch that with Farrcy 3 or does it Require Uplay too?

I used to buy just about eveyrthing Ubisoft made up until a few years ago. Why? Because of the "always on" DRM. I'm perfectly fine with Registering a game when I buy it with email verification. I don't want to be FORCED to constantly be connected to play a Single Player game. If I want to play multiplayer then obviously I'll connect online. I use Steam for quite a few games as well but I stay in "Offline Mode" unless I specifically want to go online.

When Ubisoft gets rid of the "Always On" portion of their DRM, I'll happily start buying their games again. I miss them. I can honestly say though I've spoken with my wallet no matter how bad I wanted to play the latest game they just made. In the last few years they've easily lost $300-$500 a year of my money. Why do you think Ubisoft wants to "Improve Relations" with PC players in the first place? Because they want us to start buying their games again.

Well, I'm not falling for this bone they want to throw us. Take away the Always On DRM unless I want to play in multiplayer mode. Then, and Only Then, will Ubisoft start getting my money again, and not a day before.

No matter how awesome the game is, day one DLC is just another way for already rich companies to milk things for more money. ANY day one DLC is content that you should get for buying the game, period. Not something you should pay extra for the same day you shell out money for the game to begin with.

These companies will never stop their greedy corporate practices until the consumer stops paying for them. Boycott these types of practices people. Then maybe we'll start getting entire games for $50 instead of having to pay $100 or more over the course of a year or two for a actual finished product...

A game that makes you feel like you're working your life away for nothing.....I thought we played games to get AWAY from that feeling because that's how most of us live our day to day lives anyway?
