How is Path of Exile skill tree shallow? It has a freaking skill...forest. Also, please explain why Diablo 3 has better mechanics than Path of Exile.[QUOTE="Ravenshout"]

The P2W arguement is fair enough, but I wouldnt call it a mechanically a bad game.
The game's biggest problem for me is the itemization, but the actual combat mechanics are good and since I dont mind being unpopular, I will also state that the game's character build system (passive and active skills) is far more interesting than Path of Exile's convoluted but still woefully shallow skill puddle.
The Itemization in a game like this however, can very easily be a game breaker and unfortunately it was what made me lose interest in the game anyway, but the game's overall mechanics were good, but the itemizaiton was a killing blow.

The only thing worth-looking forward to is the the CGI cinematics.
Just because you have a lot of choices doenst mean you have a lot of depth. For most of the part, what skills to pick in the skill tree are usually really obvious and insignifcant. Just pick the stuff to stack your health. The only really interesting skills to pick are the keystone skills. The rest are both too insignificant and too obvious on what to pick.
When it comes to builds and build making, depth comes from the number of VIABLE choices, NOT the number of choices.
As for mechanics, unless they changed the combat significantly. The combat in PoE is still spam your best skill and use the occational utility skill. At least in Diablo 3 you have skills and synergy between your various active skills.
Well-said. I surrender. Now you go to the PoE's official forum and you'll see that to the dwellers there, POE is the best in sub-genre. Every mention of D3 or Blizzard entails hate.
