RRW3 - Day 3

Today is Day 3 of Retro Revival Week. As planned, today I'm playing Super Mario RPG and Super Mario World, both on the SNES. I'm about three-quarters of the way through Super Mario RPG, so I'll be finishing that up soon and then I'll start on Super Mario World. I'm having a really great time.

RRW3 - Metroid Monday

If you read my last blog post you'd know I'm taking part in the third Retro Revival Week. As I said, today I am playing the original Metroid on the NES, and Super Metroid on the SNES. I started Metroid early this morning and completed it just a little while ago. I have started Super Metroid and I'm about one-eighth of the way through. That's it for my daily update.

And so it begins...

Retro Revival Week #3

Today marks the start of a third Retro Revival Week. A week where you pay tribute to those good old days by playing nothing but retro games. I've made plans for how I'm going to spend the week. As for today, I think I'm going to just start out soft, playing old NES classics like Mario Bros., Duck Hunt, Donkey Kong, etc. I'll probably even play some Pac-Man. As for the rest of the week, it goes as follows...

Sunday - NES Classics (Mario Bros., World Cup, etc.)
Pac-Man (ARC)

Monday - Super Metroid (SNES)
Metroid (NES)

Tuesday - Super Mario RPG (SNES)
Super Mario World (SNES)

Wednesday - Taking a break.
Gameboy Classics (Wario Land, etc.)

Thursday - Paper Mario (N64)

Friday - Perfect Dark (N64)

Saturday - The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. (SNES)

That's the week. I made it so that it progressed from the old NES and Arcade days to the later N64 days. I'm planning on beating each game on the given date. If anyone has any good recommendations that could be added to the list I would appreciate it. I'll be making daily blog posts to update my progress. I hope everyone has a great week. Happy retro gaming to all!

Testing 1, 2, 3...

[video=IXExkTv65bgOvD7e]

This is just a test blog using a video. Some of you may have seen this, some of may not have. It's just a personal record of mine with Ganondorf on the Home Run Contest in Super Smash Bros. Melee. The picture on the TV is horrible, but please enjoy. My actual record is 4802.3.

The New Year.

It's 12:00 exactly on the east coast (or so according to my clock). I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year. May the year ahead bring much more to our world of gaming. :D Time to Party! What do you think your first game of '07 will be?

It's here.

Well, my PS3 has arrived. My uncle had picked one up from a store in his area. I went up to his house yesterday to get it from him. I reimbursed him of course. On my way back, I stopped at my local best buy and picked up Resistance and Ridge Racer 7. I'm really loving it so far. In other news, I pulled an all-nighter beating Gears on Insane. For the most part, it was easier than I expected. The only things that ever really got me irritated were the wretches (especially the ones that explode), and General RAAM of course. It just took time and patience. That's pretty much it. I hope everyone else had a good holiday, and I hope everyone will have a happy new year.

Level 17.

I'm happy to say that my account has taken advantage of the Level 16-20 glitch (skipping Level 16 of course). I'm not happy to say that this brings me one step closer to the dreaded Level 20 (*shudders*). Not much has been going on lately. I've been settling down, playing all the games of this wonderful year, and getting ready for the year ahead. I think I might be able to get a PS3. It might not happen until Dec. 27th, but the chances are good. But for now, I'm just waiting for the new year to start. I want to wish everyone a happy holiday. Have fun. :)

1000 Posts.

I haven't made an entry in a while, so I thought I would. I don't really have much to talk about so I thought I'd make this about the fact that I have gotten to 1000 posts. Just 9000 more to 10k. I've just been playing my Wii and 360 lately. Not to mention Guitar Hero which I'm enjoying. I'm still waiting for the opportunity to get a PS3. I was hoping to have one by the years end, but that's a little hard. :D Maybe I'll find one.

Rockin' Out.

Well, I've picked up Guitar Hero. I decided I'd give it a try because I've heard nothing but good things about it, and I figure that if I play guitar in real-life, how hard could it be. Lol. I guess I'll find out the hard way. Haven't played it yet but I will be sure to do so today. I'm just hoping it turns out to be as good as everyone says (which I'm sure it will, the track list looks amazing). And I'm also hoping it doesn't severely alter my guitar playing. Lol. :D

Random Accomplishment.

Yeah... I beat Resident Evil 4 on professional mode using only the knife. I've seen people do it before, so I thought I'd give it a try. Turns out it was a whole lot easier than using normal weapons, key word being normal. If you have the handcannon that's a different story. Lol. That's pretty much all I've been doing lately, along with playing lots of retro games.
