While playing FEAR, i have run into the same, potentially serious problem twice. While I am playing, my screen will suddenly get lots of red dots on it, then I will get the blue screen followed by my computer restarting.
When my computer boots back up again, it says the problem is caused by the Nvidia driver (note that I have the updated nvidia driver, Geforce 178 I believe its called, and I am running an 8800gt.) I really dont know what to do to stop this from happening, and if this problem continues to occur could it potentially completely ruin my hardware or computer? Alos, is there anything I can do to fix it because there is no driver update? Thanks in advance
If i were you, i'd get a dual core instead of the quad core and i'd get that 8800GT, which is a much better card than the 2600 you have listed there. If you're really on a budget, go for a 9600gt instead of the 2600xt.

Why get a dual core instead of a quad???
To the above post, I believe that should run it, as this is what the specs are to run it (taken from the official website)
Minimum configuration:
(1024x768, detail reduced)
OS: Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Windows Vista
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 3Ghz or equivalent
RAM: 1GB
Video card: NVIDIA GeForce 6600 or better
Video memory: 128MB
DVD-ROM: Quad-speed (4x) DVD-ROM drive
HARD DRIVE SPACE: 30GB
Recommended configuration:
(Up to 1280X960, most features on)
OS: Windows XP SP 2 or Windows Vista
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz or equivalent
RAM: 2048MB Dual Channel DDR2
Video card: NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GTX or equivalent
Video memory: 512MB
DVD-ROM: Quad-speed (4x) DVD-ROM drive
HARD DRIVE SPACE: 30GB
I got to go out and get a new pc for this game lol. So my question is, are there any setbacks (to gaming or anything) to getting a quad core instead of a duo core? Because most games specs I see all say duo core, so is it better to get a quad or duo?
