@northArrow The problem is you can't force innovation in a consumer dependent market. It is an industry that has to appeal to its market or else it will hemorrhage money. Because of this, these devices need to factor the consumer into its design.

Since when was standing up for basic consumer rights "toxic"?

He also doesn't seem to comprehend that barely any devices are "always-on". Sure, they can be online but they are not dependent on it to function.
