Yesterday was my birthday

Its been a while since a game has truly entertained me. I'm looking for new games but nothing brings taste to my pallete.

New games SUCK, especially american works, its just all losing style, or trying to make something up that just doesn't work.


I've finally evidenced that Devil May Cry 3 is better than God of War, albiet harder but hey, at least it bases the game on chapters instead of annoying save points that are the be all and end all of your gameplay.

For example- I saved in a place I probably can't get out of, that's the end of my game.
Not a problem in DMC3, the point of the game is to be strong enough to make it through a whole chapter at a time.

Whatever.
God of War sucks, they couldn't even make the combat fully fuctional, after all, the weapons rarely connect and when they do THEY DO LIKE NO DAMAGE.

SCEW YOU SONY. You couldn't keep up with Dante.

So of course I can't go but I've been spending 3 or 9 hours (kinda lost track) reading about the preshow.

I think the new consoles are all really shallow, and most of the new games are just flashy.

Thank God for Hideo Kojima though. If you haven't scene the Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer you've totally missed out on why gaming can be a creative experience. The man is THE MAN.

Xbox360 is being really cheap, it wants to basically turn its console into a xanga.

The PS3 is just as bad except its not gonna have that cool (though EVIL) customizable network that Live will provide.


I'm going for Revolution. I think they'll care enough to make real games, lets just hope they don't make a freakin add-on required for each one. Goodnight!

Everyone should read my review of Metal Gear Solid 3...not like anyone reads this journal anyways.


But I love that game. I beat it again for the second time and really, its one of the best games ever made. Its the only game where you get to fight bad guys how YOU want no matter what (with the exception of the Giant Robot Battle!)

And its just the freedom thats amazing.

I read a review, that said that Resident Evil 4 was game of the year and SERIOUSLY?!?!

What is the big deal? Why do you all enjoy the simplistic, nearly EMBARASSINGLY SIMPLE gameplay it provides, that is only different from the original resident evil games because you get more bullets, can aim, and can grab/kick the enemy. Otherwise its the same game, only without the tension, without the suspense, or the intriguing story that made the series as reknowned as it is...its just. BLAH.

The shooting in MGS3 is sure a lot more clunky, but it requires more skill, and unlike most fps it feels like you're really aiming and shooting cause of the well designed animations seen in the FPV.

So ya. RE4 vs MGS3 as a game that defined a generation? I have my winner, and its not RE4.

Then again it might not be MGS3 either, simply because it SHOULD be Halo2 ... only for the fact that it truly brought multiplayer online console gaming into the home once and for all. And with high quality...but the single player sucked so it can't win, can it? Cause it certainly doesn't have the online versatility of UT to bring it over par...god its confusing.

But MGS3 is the step in the right direction to INTERACTING WITH A GAME WORLD. The main reason I can't stand RE4 other than the demeaningly awful storyline. In MGS3 you can interact with almost everything, the world touches you, the enemies touch the world, you can move all over it (well, on the paths anyways) the engine is nearly perfect. RE4? Oh wow it looks nice but besides breaking doors you can't do much.


I should go. I hate that no one understands my view on games...MGS3 nearly made me cry at the end. It was a thing of cinematic beauty. And the satisfaction of getting through a whole area undetected is just...the closest thing to living that kind of amazing life as I'll ever get. And I love it.

Halo2 died on me. My exbox turned on then i open it up to see a little circle around the edge of the disc. GODDAMNIT!


I can't get Tribes 1 or 2 to work. That is depressing.

Unreal Championship Sucks.

Counterstrike Sucks.


I think the god of FPS is laughing at me. Telling me its time to move on.
