@Pyrosa: According to BGS Fallout 76 is also a Single Player Game. Anyone who buys it as such should have permanent offline access to play it as such. Do you disagree or are you okay with Single Player Games given 5 year life spans?

Micro Transactions offer the player 'choice' so why not triple or quadruple the number of MTs if you think gamers love them so?

@gamingdevil800: Seriously. I miss the giant ants and tentacle monsters from Fallout 3.

@Hoski0999: FYI, The MGS Collection always ran better on X360. The PS3 version has many frame drops and stutters.

@Sevenizz: The metal gear series pioneered 'stealth' gameplay. Sneaking, hiding and alert cool downs were all part of the fun. Item collection and back tracking were also key elements similar to Zelda, Metroid, Castelvania SotN etc. Add above average voice acting and music with in-game cut scenes and you have the 'total package' 10-15 years ahead of it's time. Every metal gear game has pushed technology and game design far further than most of its contemporaries.

Similar to Ridley Scott's Alien and Blade Runner being progenitors for modern science fiction metal gear has had a similar effect on gaming. Only Metal Gear Survivor has proven otherwise. I think Resident Evil has had a similar effect but to a lesser extent.

As a Video Game poster collector I've noticed Metal Gear Posters always carry a premium over other games so I think others have a similar opinion.

When a game is sold as a service [that won't function 5+ years down the line] because the servers have been decommissioned it should cost $10 max. Push your bs monetary DLC and micro transactions all you want but don't charge full price for game that will eventually be broken by the publishers own neglect.

Wow, how many words used in this article and no mention of Jeremy Blaustein and his other contributions to video game history? Jeremy also translated the original Metal Gear Solid, Sega CD version of Snatcher and many other Konami games. He's responsible for filtering out much of Kojima's cheesy dialog (love blooming on the battlefield...) and westernizing it into the classic we know it as today.

If it wasn't for Jeremy MGS would've been just another beautiful Japanese game with a terrible English translation and dubbing. Remember those?

Also Jeremy translated/rewrote this dialog for SoTN but he didn't direct the voice actors like he had on MGS. He's mentioned in interviews as blaming the v/a director for the poor delivery from the actors.

@superklyph: You're a wise sage here. I hope young bucks heed your words. I'd add taking your girl ring shopping, allow her to pick the ring and compromise on the diamond. Do this before the proposal.

Ring shopping is a great way for couples to walk through the initial steps of preparing themselves for marriage. The financial commitment only goes up from there.

@Flyin3lvl: IMO the inflated review scores for AAA games isn't helping. If they can get back to authentic analysis of pros and cons and realistic scores they could restore the readership's trust. When people go out and spend $60 dollars for a game (that they were told is excellent) and find it flawed they loose trust. Especially if those flaws weren't mentioned in the review.

They could also use better editorials with real geek cred. Interviews with well-informed/difficult questions and difficult answers. Articles are mostly press releases, copied/pasted or direct from social media accounts of publishers. Back in the day game journos had to do the leg work, build contacts and the results were better for it.

If they can't afford better content production in-house they could try out-sourcing? I'd be happy to read repostings of https://shmuplations.com/ interviews when applicable or having guest reviewers from jurno celebs like Jim Sterling on YouTube.
