Resident Evil: Conspiracy Part 9

I look at the dead Hunter and suddenly, I hear another noise back in the hall.  "Stay here," I say to the others.  I raise my gun back to my shoulder and head down the hall.  I hear splat noises, and I stop and look at fresh blood drops on the floor.  They are all concentrated on the one spot.  I look up, and see a giant spider on the ceiling feasting on an arm.

"Oh God."  It looks down at me and releases a loud screech and drops down right in front of me.  I start to back away as the thing slowly crawls toward me.  Suddenly, I turn and run.  As I'm running, I turn and spray shots at the spider as it starts to run at me.  The next time I turn around, it's gone.  I stop, and look back, and I hear a thud as it lands just behind me.  I turn around, and it tries to take a bite out of me.

I quickly sidestep as it lunges, and I throw a grenade at its mouth.  It hits the spider's face, and it looks confused.  I jump away as the grenade blows the spider to pieces.  I stand up.  Four grenades left now.  I make my way back to the offices.  "You okay?" Pat asks.  "I'm fine.  The other thing didn't make out too well though," I respond.  "Nice.  Look what I found," Pat says as he hands me a vial.  I look at the label emblazened with the Umbrella symbol.  "A T-Virus sample?  Why?" I ask.  "Don't know.  But do you have any idea the money that will earn us when we give it to command?"  Pat asks me.  I smile thinking of the loads of cash being dumped onto my salary.

"Anything else?"  "Nothing but financial records.  Let's bag this stuff," Pat responds as he folds some papers and puts them in his back pouch.  I take the sample and think to wrap it up, but see the plexiglass casing, and decide not to bother.  I put it in my back pouch also.

Resident Evil: Conspiracy Part 8

"Let's take care of these bodies," Pat mutters as I push a new magazine into my gun.  I sling my rifle, and draw my knife.  I then do the dead zombie immediately at my feet with its head twisted half way around, then the other two I killed while Adam and Jamie stand guard.  As soon as we're done, we start down the hall.

"Hold up," Pat says as we near a corner.  Pat points to a floor diagram on the wall and says "Take a picture.  We can use it to navigate."  I remove my camera from its pouch, and bring it up until its screen on the back shows the map.  I snap a picture, and look at it before I put the camera away.  Not only is it of this floor, but of all the floors.  One room is labeled "administrative offices."  "Hey, Pat.  Look.  We can search these for evidence."  "Let me see.  You're right.  Nice thinking.  Imagine the pretty penny that'll bring us.  And it's on this floor," Pat responds looking at the picture.

"Evidence?  That's why you're here?"  Jamie asks.  "Yeah.  Umbrella's going down anyway, but I guess they at least want to try to soften the blow.  Besides, we're getting paid nicely for it," I respond.  Jamie nods in understanding, I re-ready my rifle, and we continue down the hall to where the map says the offices are.  There's a trail of blood leading from the hall into the broken doorway.  I look at Pat, and we both nod and take up breach positions.  I pull out a grenade and say to Pat "Just to be safe."  He nods, and I toss the grenade in.

The explosion comes three seconds later.  Pat and I both practically jump through the doorway to face a large almost half lizard half gorilla looking thing facing away from us knocked over by the blast.  A Hunter, which I have also heard all about.  It scrambles back up, and looks at us with its claws ready to attack.  I pull my gun up to my shoulder and start unloading rounds on its head.  It starts to spring as if to jump, and Jamie raises her magnum and pops it in the head.  It recoils and staggers backward as all of us empty rounds at it.  Finally, one of my bursts draws brain matter from its head, and it screeches and falls.

Resident Evil: Conspiracy Part 7

"You okay?" I ask Jamie.  "Yeah.  Just hit my head on the floor.  Thanks for saving my ***," she says.  "Not a problem," I say smiling.  "Hey!  Over here!" Pat yells.  I help Jamie to her feet, and we head over.  Pat has his light shining on a slightly open door with a man looking out.  "Are you guys cops?  Can you help me?" the man asks us.  "No we're not cops, but we can help you.  Were you bitten?" Pat says.  "No, thank God," the man says.  "We heard something down here, was that you?  How'd you survive?"  I ask.

"Huh?  Oh yeah, well I was down here trying to hide, and these dogs found me.  I had to use all my strength to close the door while they tried to push in.  My name's Adam, by the way," The man answers.  "Nice to meet you Adam.  You'll be safe with us," Pat responds.  Adam comes toward us, and I see that all he's armed with is a crowbar.  Pat sees this too.  "Adam," Pat takes out his Mk23.  "You can use this until we find you a real weapon," Pat says to Adam as he hands over his pistol.

Adam takes it, nods, and drops his crowbar.  The noise resonates through the open and empty basement.  "Let's take care of these bodis and head upstairs.  This place kind of creeps me out," I suggest.  "Good idea.  At least now we cleared it.  We don't need to explore it," Pat says as we turn toward the pile of bodies in the middle of the floor.  Me and Pat both sever all the bodies' brainstems while Jamie and Adam stand guard.

"Done.  Let's go," I say as I finish the last body.  We all turn to the stairwell, and go up to the second floor.  As we pass the door to the lobby floor, I look out the window, just to make sure our little method works.  All three bodies are exactly as we left them.  Once we get to the door for the second floor, Me and Pat take position on either side of the door.  I kick the door in, and we head to our opposite sides, and quickly look down the corridor.

There's a general hiss among six zombies down the hall as they discover their next potential meal.  "Hostiles!" I shout as I aim through my scope.  The hallway is sporadically lit with muzzle flash as we all open fire.  I aim at one zombie's head, and let loose four rounds.  As soon as I see the rounds hit their target, and blow it up, I adjust my aim to the head immediately behind it, but as I pull the trigger, a zombie grabs my gun, and six rounds fly hitting the ceiling.

I quickly punch the zombie in the face as it tries to bite my arm, and I whip out my baton and hit it in the back of the knee.  The zombie falls to a kneeling position, and I put my baton back in its pouch.  Then, I reach around the zombies neck with my left hand, and place my right on the back of its head.  I hear the sound of crunching bones as I twist my hands, and I let the zombie fall.

I recover my rifle and empty six rounds on my original target's head.  All is quiet but the sound of me reloading.  All six zombies are dead.

Resident Evil: Conspiracy Part 6

Or down, as I see when we enter the stairwell.  "Hm.  Which way do we go?" I ask.  "Let's go down.  That way we won't have any surprises if the zombies start to go to higher floors.  If they do that when we go up, we'll be sandwiched," Pat says.  "Good idea," is my response.  We go to the left stairs, and start to go down, when we hear a groan.

I raise my gun to my shoulder, and see Pat do the same.  He waves me forward to the landing, and I go to it, turn to the next flight of stairs.  Empty.  I motion that it's all clear, and Pat and Jamie come down the next flight of stairs right behind me.  I step in something wet.  "What the..." I look down and turn on my rifle mounted taclight.  Blood.  Blood everywhere, covering the floor.  I look at Pat, whose jaw is totally dropped, but he isn't looking at the floor.  His expression is one of pure horror.  I look where he is looking, and see the last thing I expected to see, or wanted to see.

We are all looking at a pack of four infected dogs eating dead doctors and patients on the floor.  I know exactly what they can do from hearing about the incident in the mountains.  Suddenly, one jerks its head up, and its skinless body tenses as it growls at us and starts barking.  The rest of them start to advance.  "****!" I yell as we all start emptying rounds at them.

One suddenly jumps onto Jamie, and tackles her, but right before it bites her, I blow its head off using four rounds fired fully automatically.  I turn and as one tries to jump at me, I shoot it once in midair, and it gets blown back.  I then start going forward, and I empty five more rounds into the dog's head until I'm satisfied it's dead.

I hear no more movement or growling.  I look over to see Pat kicking a dead dog on the ground, and Jamie nursing her bruised head.  I look around some more, and see the fourth dog lying motionless on the ground with only a part of a jaw left of its head.

Resident Evil: Conspiracy Part 5

I look at the licker.  "What is it?" I ask.  "It's a licker, what else?" Pat answers.  "No, I know what it's called, but what is it?"  "I don't know.  Somehow the Umbrella scientists mix and match DNA and add the T-Virus.  That makes a licker," Pat responds.  I look again at the licker, and see it's long tongue sticking out from the remnants of its head, and the frog-like body attached to it.  "Let's move on."  I say.  "No.  We have to take care of that body on the table," Pat interrupts.  "It's infected."  "Yeah, but it's also missing the whole lower half of its body.  Let's just close the door, then it will be stuck in," I say as I proceed to do so.  Pat resigns and we continue on.  "Hey, what's a crimson head?" I ask.  "You don't know what those are?  Oh yeah, we got the files on all of Umbrella's creations about six months before you were on the team, so you never saw them.  A crimson head is a zombie that was left to rot for too long, so it came back faster, stronger, and more lethal.  That's why they were running outside," Pat responds.  So that's a crimson head, I think to myself.  "My God, what has Umbrella done?" Jamie says, speaking for the first time since she killed the licker.  We turn the next corner, and see a door marked "stairs."  By the door, we see two zombies feasting on a body.  They look up, and start to come toward us.  I raise my gun, and I fire two shots into each of their heads, and we proceed carefully toward them.  The bodies on the ground all lie still.  I lightly kick one, and it is unresponsive.  "Now we have to do something about these bodies," Pat remarks with emphasis on "these."  "Okay.  What?" Jamie asks.  "Well, the book says we should burn or decapitate them.  I say we take a shortcut," Pat says as he draws his knife.  He kneels, and stabs the zombie in the back of the neck to sever the brain stem.  "Just as long as it can't move anything but it's head," Pat says.  I kneel and do the same to the other two dead bodies.  "Well, I guess we're going up," I say.

Resident Evil: Conspiracy Part 4

We all paired up.  Me and Pat, Jason and James, Mark and Craig, and Ben and Rick.  We all split off into different corridors of the hospital.  "Man, this is pretty screwed up.  I thought the Umbrella scientists were better than letting this slip out," I said.  "Yeah.  Well, everyone makes mistakes.  This one just cost hundreds of lives," was the reply.  As we went around the corner to a corridor, we heard crying, and a gunshot.  "Up ahead!" I yelled.  We ran to the first door on our left where it came from.  We each took up position on either side of the door, and I turned and kicked the door in.  Immediately, we both moved in and branched in opposite directions, me to the right side of the room, and Pat to the left.  We both lowered our guns when we saw a woman huddling over a dead body crying.  "Ma'am?  Are you okay?" I asked.  She turned to me, and I saw her beautiful tear-streaked face.  "He was my husband.  He was a doctor here..." her voice trailed off.  "Ma'am do you want to come with us?  We can keep you safe," Pat asked with compassion in his voice.  "My husband..." she said.  "Ma'am, he's dead now.  I'm sure he doesn't want you to join him," I responded.  She nodded her head, stood up, and held out her gun to me.  It was a .357 magnum.  "Do you want to use this?" she asked.  "No, you might need it," I responded.  She nodded again, and followed us out the door.  "So, what's your name?" I asked her.  "Uh, it's Jamie.  Jamie Carrington," she responded.  "Well Jamie, have you been bitten?  Do you have any injuries of any kind?" Pat asked.  "No.  No, I managed to keep the few... things I encountered from hurting me at all.  And I told my husband keeping a gun in my purse was a bad idea before all of this.  Now I'm glad he insisted," Jamie said.  "Good."  Suddenly we heard a groan.  We all stopped to listen.  Nothing.  I motioned them both to stay back.  I looked around the next corner, and saw something scurry into another doorway.  I waved them forward, and we headed toward the door.  I had Jamie stay just about ten feet from the door, and me and Pat breached the door.  What we saw when we got in was a licker feasting on a carcass of a man on an operating table.  It heard us and turned around making a growling noise.  Both our weapons lit up as the thing started to jump at us.  The bullets' impacts stunned it, and it fell on the floor.  It then proceeded to recover, and just as it was readying for another jump, I heard one more particularly loud bang just as its head exploded.  I turned around to see Jamie holding her magnum aiming still at her kill.  "Nice shot."

Resident Evil: Conspiracy Part 3

I look around at the heaps of bodies on the ground, and see one still moving.  I walk up to it, and I call "Hey!  Check this out!"  Pat, Mark, Craig, and Rick all come over and see what I am seeing.  A man on the ground with his intestines hanging out, and he's coughing blood.  "Whoah.  You think he's the one they were eating?" Craig asks.  "I don't care.  He's infected." James mutters as he raises his gun and fires one shot into the man's head.  All of a sudden, we hear groans and growls all around us, and look up to see the chopper already left.  "****it James!  That was totally unneccessary!  And worse yet, now all of the zombies in a half a mile radius are probably onto us!  We have to head to the police station!  Move!" Rick yells as we start to see dozens of zombies surround us.  I raise my gun and start firing and see Pat raise his M249 SAW and spray the crowd.  We start retreating through a side alley, and they follow us.  All of a sudden, we see some in the group start running.  "Crimson heads!" someone yells, and I respond "What?"  "Just shoot them!" is all I hear in response.  I look through my Aimpoint scope, and center the red dot on one of their heads.  I pull the trigger, and I see the things head explode after I fire three rounds into its skull.  All of a sudden, I'm on the ground.  A zombie caught me off guard as I was going by an open door.  I struggle to keep it away from my neck, and I finally draw my knife and stab it in the back of its neck as it tries to claw through my kevlar.  It falls limp next to me as I scramble to my feet and run to catch up with the rest of the squad.  "In here!" Rick yells as we come to an open hospital door.  We get inside and barricade the doors.  I push a magazine rack in front of the door, and Mark Jams it shut using a piece of piping from the janitor's closet near the entrance.  We quickly back away and watch the creatures struggle to get inside.  Finally they stop.  "The police station?" I ask.  "No one mentioned that in the briefing."  "I know, but there is a lot of evidence there of our bribing the police chief.  Mainly, we need to destroy the financial records.  Sorry I didn't say anything in the briefing, but we were on a bit of a time pinch.  I had to make it short."  Rick replies and yells "Regroup!"  We all form up in front of him and check our equipment.  My knife, C4, grenades, gasmask, jumpsuit, boots, radio, helmet, vest, gloves, pistol, camera, telescoping baton, and rifle are all accounted for and in one piece, but I have to quickly reload my rifle.  Pat finds everything also well.  James' G36C is jammed, Mark's camera was lost while we were running, but his G3 Sniper is fine.  Craig also reloads his G36C, and  Jason, James, and Ben all reload simultaneously their MP10s.  Rick merely stands there until we're all done.  "All right gentlemen, we had a rough time getting in, but we might as well work with the cards we're dealt.  Let's split up into teams of two, and search this place for evidence and another way to the station.  Let's go!"

Resident Evil: Conspiracy part 2

Update time:

I sit for about three minutes while the other UCBM team members enter the dispatch room.  Mark Mancuso, Craig Thomas, Jason Heder, James Carson, and Ben Mahoni.  In all, there are eight of us on the team.  Each of us have our own main specialty and job.  I am the "full back" as the team calls me.  I hang back and cover the rear, and I specialize in demolition.  Pat is the "half back" who moves in at the back of the team a bit in front of me, and he is the machine gunner.  Rick is the point man who gives the orders.  Mark is our marksman who hangs around the middle.  Craig is the recon man who usually goes ahead.  He can be quite sneaky.  Jason, James, and Ben kind of just hang around with their guns ready for any contacts.  We all sit down, and Rick begins the briefing.  "Gentlemen, we have a problem.  The T-Virus has broken out in Raccoon City.  We don't know the extent of the infection, or the cause, but the town has been overrun, and we need you to get in there and eliminate all evidence of Umbrella's activities.  Any B.O.W. you manage to kill will also help out, and maybe even get you some extra money.  The chopper leaves in two minutes.  Check your gear and get out there!  Move!"  Stunned by this unusually short briefing, we all perform neccessary equipment checks, and load onto the chopper.  "What do you think?" Pat asks me as I retie my boots.  "I think we need to get this job done as quickly as possible.  I haven't had any first hand experience with the T-Virus, but just hearing about it scares the crap out of me," I reply as Raccoon City comes into view.  "Huh, ditto," is the response I get.  Everyone is deep in thought, and I wonder how this happened.  I had heard the scientists were really good.  If this was true, then how did this happen?  "We've reached the insertion point, hostiles on the ground," the pilot yelled to us as the machine guns on the sides of the chopper lit up.  I looked down at the ground and saw infected people dropping like flies.  "This side clear," one gunner says, followed by the other.  The ziplines drop, and my feet touch the ground...

Resident Evil: Conspiracy

I'm walking to my desk when it happens.  The alarm goes off.  We all know what that means.  I go to my locker and don my tactical vest, hip holster, gas mask, and helmet over my dark grey jumpsuit.  I put an extra magazine for my G36C into each of the six large clip pouches around the stomach area of my vest over the kevlar.  I then put an extra Mk23 magazine into each of the six small magazine pouches.  Each G36C magazine holds 30 5.56 mm rounds, and each Mk23 magazine holds 15 .45 caliber rounds.  I push a magazine into my rifle, cock it, and sling it on my back.  I then load my pistol, and put it into my hip holster.  I pull down my gasmask, and head into the dispatch room.  When I arrive, I find that only two other people are in there.  My name is Eric Jacobs.  I am 33 years old, and I am an Umbrella mercenary.  I was trained by the Army Rangers, and was honorably discharged after accidentally killing a civilian in the first Gulf War who was running with an empty Iraqi rebel's  gun in his hand.  A trophy, I suppose.  That's when Umbrella picked me up.  I still can see him in my nightmares.  The other two in the room are team member Pat Richardson, and team leader Rick Sampson.  I sit down and wait for the others to arrive...
