I usually don't reply to you SJW guys, because there are thousands of you on twitter and you ALL ignore facts and logic (and I'm not a good writer anyway) but h-here I go.
First of all no one is upset that they didn't write stories about Zoe or her sex live. They're upset because of similar stories they ran before, without any confirmation and proof and unprofessional displayed, and the the journalists response to accusations of collusion and the request for transparency (gamers are dead) . That and censorship across all the internet.
Anyway I invite you to read these leaked emails. Not everything here is incriminating (a lot of it is) , but this exchange is very interesting.Full email list about Zoe, note that this is not the only leaked list, Milo may be saving some for future articles.
Ryan Smith :
But quick question: how did some of you decide to publish the Josh Mattingly story from earlier this year: that appeared to be based on a private conversation about sex. Where do you see the line being drawn? And how do you guys feel about the Snapchat CEO’s emails from college being a story?
I was also wondering if when some of you published stories about Zoe Quinn’s harassment — did you actually ask for evidence of said harassment or just go by what she wrote on Twitter. (he's talking about Wizardchan which Escapist apologized for)
Sarah Leboeuf :
Uh pretty big difference between “a private conversation about sex” and sexual harassment, which is what the Mattingly situation was.

If you don’t see the differences between a story about a journalist sending crude sexual messages to a game developer and a story about a game developer allegedly cheating on her boyfriend, I’m not sure what to tell you.
Ben Kuchera :
So you’re comparing writing about someone who sexually harassed a female developer, which is a disgraceful way to act, and covering someone who is being victimized to the point of not feeling safe in her home? Is that a real argument you’re trying to make?
Ryan Smith :
Hold on to your hats. I wasn’t equating the two at all. I was just asking where you guys draw the line.
Kyle:
Between the harassers and the victims of harassment.
Jason Schreier
I don’t know why you think there’s a line to be drawn. “Reporter at moderately-known games website sends sexually explicit messages to game developer who doesn’t want them” is a story. “Game developer allegedly cheats on her boyfriend” is not. That seems pretty simple to me.
Ben Kuchera :
That line doesn’t require a lot of thought. It’s incredibly simple.
Ryan Smith :
I’m just asking where the line is drawn at publishing messages that were private that have become public because someone posted them on the web.
Josh Mattingly’s sexual harassment of the game dev (which is super terrible) doesn’t appear to be part of an interview, it appears to be informal chat made public. The Snapchat CEO’s emails became a big story not too long ago, and it was because private emails were made public. There’s also the case of Anthony Weiner’s sexually explicit messages.
Surely it’s not all black and white when it comes to these stories.

The line is whether or not it serves a legitimate public interest. In theory, you can run any story you wish if you have editorial control. You also have the ability to say whatever the hell you want. But you don’t arbitrarily tell a someone to **** off for saying “have a nice day”. There is no line because interactions, morality, and all that are complex and multi-faceted. It simply requires you to attempt to consider the consequences of your actions and determine if they will bring a net positive or a net negative about.
Even though Total Biscuit was insulted by Phil Fish and got death threats for being on the neutral side, he still remained neutral. I guess the hypocrisy got too much for him.
Erik Kain did an article about the DDOS attacks on the escapist. Didn't mention the attacks against twitter users, but I guess it's ok since they can't be proven. Forbes link
Just when I thought those nut-cases couldn't sink any lower...
Bomb Threat Targeted Anita Sarkeesian, Gaming Awards Last March
Yeah. I saw this on the front page of GameSpot. It's absolute insanity.
Do you also know that GDC took place in march , it has nothing to do with GamerGate and they brought this news just in time in to cover this up? So yeah they made a big deal about a bomb threat that took place six months ago and they're trying to tie it to GamerGate right at the mailing list got leaked.
"Edwards said she was approached by the FBI in July during a visit to San Diego for Comic-Con to discuss the harassment of developers online.". July. Were they like stockpiling clickbait articles for months in case of anyone was into them?
That guy is dressed like a dew terrorist because SJW's kept calling gamers worse than ISIS on twitter. It's an inside joke, not that this guy Jag can take any.
