Since when has ID make non-linear games? I'm almost certain it will be linear. It probably won't be shorter than 8 hours, so that's one disc change every 4 hours if you were planning to play through the game in one sitting.

OH MY GOD!!!! I have to get off the couch after 4 hours so i can change the disc, i have to turn on the console put the first disc in it and after 4 hours i have to get up and pu another disc!!!??? Boycot ID everyone don't buy their games anymore.

I've had a 360 since launch and it has not scratched one disc or had the red lights. If you are thinking about getting a 360, wait for a couple weeks when the price drop is announced. Kestastrophe

As a gamer on a budget trying to get into the new generation, I find myself limited to being able to afford only one console. Up until now, I've been a Playstation guy. Last generation, I chose the PS2 simply because I had PS1 games to play on it. I realize now that that isn't a good reason to choose a new system; just keep the old one and you're fine.

Now that the new generation is here, I'm SERIOUSLY considering jumping ship and get a 360. I mean, it just has the games I wanna play (Gears just blew my mind) and XBOX live looks like a HUGE plus for XBOX. However, before I put down my hard earned cash, I have a few concerns about the system that I'd like your, my fellow gamers, thoughts on.

My biggest concern is the failure rate of 360s. If I get a system, I want it to work. I can NOT afford to get a replacement system. Have any of your 360s failed and how did you resolve the problem? Were you satisfied? I know that Microsoft recently upped the warranty to 3 years, but I'm still very nervous about getting a system with such a high failure rate.

Your thoughts and advice would be appreciated.

Get the 360 if you are really concerned that it will fail wait until the new improved chips are installed and then buy it. Until then stick with your ps2.
