I personally don't think it's innovative. There's a difference between something being completely new, and innovative. Haze offers some new things in gameplay, but I'm not sure if the things will be adopted into every other new game.

Keep in mind this was recorded on a cam. If you want to see real gameplay, go to IGN or somewhere and watch DEV diaries or something... You'll see that the graphics look very impressive.

It's not bad in this thread yet, but type haze in the search bar and click on any topic. Most are 5+ pages of just blindly bashing the game for really no reason. I can't think of any reason to bash this game. Top noth graphics, great (some even call it innovative) gameplay, very compeling story, 4 player online/offline seamless drop in/out co-op, great multiplayer, made by Free Radical... People might call it generic, but you know what? That's not necessarily bad. Halo is considered generic, but it also one of the best FPS franchises ever. Gears of War was considered generic, and so far is the best game of this gaming generation.

Lemmings. Have you seen them in full force in a Haze thread? It's amazing. You would think it was Big Rigs the way they bash this game. :| Simply put, Lemmings blindly hate any type of exclusive on the PS3.

I think Haze is, unfortunately, that sort of one-trick pony FPS that fails to explore its Big New Idea to a level that makes it rise from the pack. But then again, as our own Michael McWhertor was quick to point out:

well one things for sure this games graphics **** all over halo 3 and it brings 4 player co op :D this is what next generation is all about.

4 Player co-op and some positive previews are why I'm interested. The art style and graphics do seem derivative though.

You're right, the market is flooded with the genre, but PS3 owners need whatever they can get. The gameplay looks only decent imo, but 4 player co-op sounds very fun and I have no Halo 3 to look forward to.
