being different in my book is a good thing, good or not good. This industry lacks originality and companies are too afraid to try something different and new. How many times can one play the same generic first person shooter? i realize why wii owners hype the conduit. its not because of it being a first person shooter, but for the fact that a developer is actually trying with the hardware. I also think its cause of the idea of playing with the wii mote as well.
anyway, new and fresh games is a must in this industry, or else will constantly get the same games with the same experience but with a different coat of paint. *looks at GTA4*
i laugh back at cows/lemmings for laughing at wii games, cause its not a first person shooter, a highly mature game, cause in the end, its the wii owners who are experiencing something new, with every new game wii purchase or announcement. I'm not saying ps3/xbox not getting games thats out of the norm, but its far too little.
i can think of little big planet, banjo kazooie 3 some games on psn/xbox live. the fact is developers are still trying the similar hardcore action guy character, cause they believe thats what actually sells. Then the Wii is perfect for you and can play all the "different" games you want. What I am getting at though is that at least 90% of those games you listed will not be AA AAA titles. I am just basing this estimate on past "different" games. Look at Ninja Bread Man; its definitely not a high scoring game and was overall terrible. I mean do you honestly think Sonic and the Black Knight (Let alone all the other titles) are going to score higher than LBP, or Bioshock, etc. This brings me back to my point; there a good "different" games and bad "different" games. you actually dont know what any of the wii games will actually score. most of the games cows/lemmings hype wont get AAA either. i can bring up a lot of games from both ps3/xbox360 that got hype and didnt meet expectations. i can bring up wii games that wasnt hype at all and end up scoring well.
no one was hyping ninja bread man to begin with, cause it looked bad from the first picture that was shown. the wii games that actually are hype are games that actually look interesting and were actually researched and read up on. Exactly, and to a lot of people these games don't look interesting, which is why few are hyping them (Some of them look OK but most are pathetic). And yes the screens and info from most of the games is also piss poor. I sure can't predict the future, but common sense leads many to believe that a lot of these game will suck
