Be careful about what you read..There are 2 books out there by "author" Adriana Rubio on Layne's life. Unfortunately, they're full of BS. She claims to have interviewed him before he died, and in these he slams his former band members, saying "They are not my friends." I personally don't think he ever said anything to her..it doesn't seem believable if you know how close Layne and Jerry were... But that's just my thoughts.

As you can tell by my avatar, I'm a fan. I have most of the albums and the Unplugged DVD. Layne Staley is, in my opinion, one of the most amazing vocalists I've heard. So I pose this question to the OT readers...

Anybody else here an Alice in Chains fan?

Like everyone else has said..no. They all revolve around Blondie (Clint Eastwood) but are all different stories. Out of the series, I think Good, Bad, & the Ugly is the best...I suggest you watch it then, if you like it..check out A Fistfull of Dollars and A Few Dollars More.

I cant say anything about not doing drugs... I think Im the perfect example on this forum to NOT do drugs. You name it, I've tried it, save for meth. I began experimenting with weed and LSD when I was about 14, and by the time I was 16 I was shooting heroin for the first time. It all can really become a downward sprial easily if you want to keep pusing the envelope like I did. I kept on wanting to get more and more out of it, and keep escaping my problems..all the typical reasons. I can say though, that I never did develop a real addiction to anything...though I came dangerously close with the heroin. I loved it. It was such a great way to check out and not have to listen to my parents complain, or pretty much anything else I didn't want to put up with. It even got to the point that I began to use it for my migrane headaches I used to get quite frequently. Im not a junkie and I don't beg for cash out on the streets or anything. Yes, I have a home too.

If you're gonna use, be smart. If it's your first time, be in a safe controlled environment. Know your limits, and push them too hard.

The one thing that sticks out in my mind isnt exactly pain. I had sinus surgery and had to stay the hospital over night. All night I could barely breath and I felt like I was suffocating. It hurt really badly when I swallowed and I was throwing up blood that was draining into my stomach from my sinuses.laughingman42

Ugh.. been there before man.
