PC gaming not mainstream anymore? Well, that's great. Maybe now we can get some GOOD games for a change, instead of the same old crap with new graphics.

Gears has many bugs. Try closing all of Vista securities and run as administrator. I got gears to run and save games better on XP then on Vista.roulettethedog

Sadly, I think this will eventualy happen. Console sales of the exact same game are much higher. People are switching over to consoles, because they can't keep up with the game requirements. WoW, and Sims saved the PC gaming market from ending years ago. I think if the developers won't take action, the PC gaming market will fail, and I will be forced to get a console :(.

The main reason PC gaming is dying is that people cannot afford to buy the new hardware. If a kid had $500 to spend, he/she would spend on a console because the console will last for at least 3 years. A $500 PC would last 6 months and if you are lucky 1 year. Two of my friends love PC games, but simply cannot afford a PC, and bought a 360. I hope that later PC game engines would be more scalable (being able to play on mainstream PCs with low end graphics, but also being able to produce very nice graphics if your hardware can support it). Command and Conquer 3 looks beautiful with high settings, but still looks OK at its low system requirements. Same with Guild Wars, WoW, and Company of Heroes. The game that I thought would sell quite good on the PC, but I don't think will is Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. The minimum system requirements are a 2.8Ghz/3500+, X800/7600GT, 1GB (XP)/2GB (Vista) RAM. Even at the minimum settings, it is slow. How could a mainstream game like GH3 have such high sys. requirements. Thats unacceptable.

Seeing all these games from way back makes you kinda sit in awe to see how things changed. Back then a spec of blood was all we wanted to see and now you get half naked women.

I remember blood the game and then blood 2. great games.

It seems like genre's are covered across the board. no matter of the age restriction. however it seems like the younger players tend to like the hardcore games.
